Best 1st Person Shooter on PS2??

Post by EvilArmourKing » Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:29 pm

I need suggestions!

Although I love my fighting games, I also enjoy some decent shoot em up action from time to time, but I have not really ever played a great deal of 1st person shooters on the PS2.

I have access to Doom and Duke Nukem 3D on the room mates PC, which is good but what would you suggest for the PS2?

I need suggestions that are also great in 1 Player mode as all the house mates are going back to Slovakia for 2 months in May!!

I actually got a MINT copy of Half Life for £1.70 yesterday and am loving it!

Red Faction and Red Faction 2 were a couple of my favourites on the PS2 (don't bother with Halflife on the PS2 though).
Hey, Sweden!
They're not Swedish Mac, they're Norwegian!

Deus Ex bar none, possibly one of the greatest fps's ever.Ok the graphics may not be the best but its a huge game an involving game and its as not as linear as any of the other fps games. It has slight rpg elements but dont let it put you off,and many different ways of doing things.

Deus Ex all the way.Black is also worth a look if you like explosive action without much depth.

XIII, Black as everybody has said.

Ubisoft make a sequel to XIII, if one game deserves it, it's this.

The TimeSplitters games are the best for pure multiplayer madness :D

For single player though, you can't go wrong with Red Faction or Half-Life 2.

I never liked Black. Played the demo and got bored of it within 5 minutes.

K, so not all agreed on Black then!

Saw it in a Cash Convertors for a fiver and remember it being mentioned in thiese pages, but will have to look at overall reader scores on the Gamefaqs site.

I still can't believe that for £1.70 I managed to bag Half Life 2!

Got Timesplitters 2 on the xbox, cant deal with it, the fact the targetting reticule doesnt stay in the centre of the screen does my tits in.

Timesplitters future perfect is great though.

My FPSs are all on xbox but most are multi system:

Star wars: Republic Commando
SW: Battlefront
Farcry
Doom 3
13
Serious Sam.

I'm fighting the urge to say that I really don't don't like FPS's.
Don't know how long I can hold off though.
