Which is the best Turrican game?

A classic "run n gun" series for sure, but which one is the best or the one you liked most? There's many ports, sequels and semi-sequels - which would you consider best? Or better, which you have most fond memories of?

I'm alternating between Mega Turrican for the MD and Super Turrican 2 for SNES, but the early home computer ports and Amiga version look nice too, respectful of the hardware running on. There were some unreleased and/or planned games too.

I've always liked Turrican II on the Amiga the best, though I haven't played the others much.

Turrican II on the Amiga is superb, one of my favourite games for the platform.
Oh and what a soundtrack!

Turrican is one of those games I've always wanted to play but never got round to it or owned a system to play it on. I had Super Probotector as a kid though so I did have one of the best run n guns to play

Turrican 2 on the C64 or Amiga, completed it on both a few times over the years...

Another vote for Turrican 2 for the Amiga here. It looked, sounded and played amazing. Its still one of my favourite games of all time. Super Turrican 2 is also a huge favourite of mine, even though its quite different to the main Amiga Turrican games its a really solid shooter from beginning to end.

The three Turrican games on the Amiga are all awesome, but if I had to choose, Turrican 2 is the best of the pack. Turrican 1 has a couple of irritating levels near the end, T3 has less exploration. But they're three masterpieces, insanely playable, with a fantastic soundtrack by Chris Huelsbeck.

I re-play and finish them all at least a couple of times a year, videogaming doesn't get any better than that.

In some ways Turrican is better than Turrican 2 on the C64, it's harder for starters. But as an overall game, T2 is probably better.

I like the Turrican games but don't feel any are outstanding. However I do think Super Turrican 2 and Mega Turrican are the best ones. They all have great sound which in truth is probably their strongest aspect.

Mega Turrican on the Megadrive is wicked. Costs a pretty penny too nowadays
