You fave game poster ...

Post by VinnyM » Tue Feb 07, 2006 9:53 am

Does anyone remember the game posters that used to appear in game shops? I remember the Hypersports, Andy Capp and Nemesis ones.

I used to work in a game shop and started to collect the posters from the 80s. Unfortunately, due to lack of space, I got rid of them a few years back :(

Does anyone have a fave retro game poster?

Does anyone collect them?

How about some retro game posters free in RG? ;)

I had the Barbarian (Palace version) poster on my wall for years. Maria Whittaker (and Wolf from Gladiators) was on it :D

I got mine with a magazine. Probably either Zzap! or C&VG.

It's difficult to pick a favourite.

The Ultimate titles from Atic Atiac onwards were always great, as they looked fantastic, but revealed sod-all about the game, meaning 'the mystery' was kept that little while longer.

I was also rather partial to the 'Wally Week' game posters, with 'Everyone's a Wally' being a particular favourite of mine.

I had that one on my wall too along with a load of others which came with Commodore User. Yes, I bought CU instead of Zzap and I've still got all them all going back to '86.

I also seem to remember the infamous Game Over disappearing nipple; one month the nipple was exposed, the next month it was covered up......
