Most you have spent on one item??

Post by EvilArmourKing » Sat Mar 31, 2007 10:11 pm

This should sort out the men from the boys, casual gamer to the hardcore collector!!

Apologies to people that have already read this thread, as it was posted on another forum! I have actually since quit that forum, as it's not for me!

But seriously, what is the most you have paid for a single item? Console or Videogame?? (NOT including PS3).

For me, it'd have to be : Adventures of Batman + Robin on Mega CD - £190! And that's the height of my gaming extravagance!

On the console front, that would be the Neo Geo AES I bought from Loot complete with 12 games for £350! Money very well spent!

One of the main reasons that I don't collect for the 32X (apart from the crappy cardboard boxes) is the price of the rarer games, most notably Primal Rage 32X and T-MEK! Seen the latter sell for £800 last year on eBay, albeit for a MINT copy.

Sadly I don't own my Neo Geo anymore - had to sell that when I split from my partner at the time.

So, what is the most you have ever spent on a single game? And what about consoles? There must be a few of you out their with a Divers 2000 Dreamcast - O.k, 2 of you!

Nothing too fancy, but Secret of Mana for SNES set me back $55, and a sealed copy of Star Control 2 for 3DO was $90. It's worth every cent.

How's it worth every cent, if it's sealed?

3DO for the win I see :)

I recently acquired the concept art for the unreleased Star Trek game for the 3DO, for an undisclosed amount. Sort of via eBay - but in the end not, if you follow my drift ;) Does this make me DEH HARDZKOREZ?

...and before the usual barriage of I HATE COLLECTORS descends upon me - I do intend to share, sort of. :)

oh wow! If I could have any arcade machine , it would defo be sit-down Star Wars -. I think £1400 is a reasonable price to pay for such an iconic piece of arcade memorabilia .

I too would pay this amount if only I had anywhere to put it :(

What else did that package have. Because even then that was £60 over the odds.

Snes with SWC DX for £200 with loads....and loads.............and loads, of games. This was back in about 1993 though so £200 was a bit more money then.
Then of course there was my Mame cab which cost me over £800 to build but I don't think that counts in this context.

It was the premium Gears of War pack from Toys r Us before xmas. It came with 6 games, including GoW and the wireless pad and HD.
Thoughts and prayers.
