Bit of related triva:

Core's Frenetic, was a project of them being so envious of the Bitmap's with Xenon and thought they could do a similar game, but bigger and better...but as they put it...'We crashed and burned big style on that one'.

They're all quality games, but it's "The Chaos Engine" for me. :) My brother bought me the CD32 version for xmas and playing it two-player with him last weekend has convinced me more than ever of how awesome it is.

No disrespect to their other games though -- they're all terrific, although I always found "Z" hard to get into (not much of a real time strategy fan though to be fair).

According to the Bitmap Bro's, Z was basically 3 years+ work (and their 1st attempt at a dedicated PC title) at making a more mainstream RTS, than something like Dune II.

They felt the key flaw with PC RTS games so far, was that the player spent more time preparing for battle, than actually fighting battles, so Z was too be a lot more action based than existing games in the genre.
