Games you'd like to see in the new generation

Post by LAIS » Sun Dec 15, 2013 10:25 am

New generation of consoles, new possibilities yada yada...

But what would you like to see? It could be the return of a classic franchise, or something completely new. The only criteria I have for this is that it can't be anything we already know about.

I'd like to see:

* A good Spiderman game...the Arkham series shows how good open world superhero games can be, and there's no reason this couldn't happen with Spiderman. Heck, it SHOULD be inevitable that we get another strong take on the Spiderman franchise...so here's hoping.

* A Ron Gilbert Monkey Island game - I'm 99% sure this will never happen, but it would be fantastic to find out how it was really supposed to end.

* Crash Bandicoot to make a triumphant return - I love Crash. He fell by the wayside a bit, but the original three games get me very nostalgic. I'd love to see him back with a real bang.

* A Final Fantasy branch-off series on the 3DS/Vita that follows the "classic" formula - World maps, airships, strong stories etc...Bravely Default shows how well this can work, so how about it, Square Enix?

* A new Pokemon Snap - it was a great game! Make it open world, and you're on to a winner I reckon.

As always when these threads appear, I would love to see a decent reboot of the Road Rash franchise with full online multiplayer, 20+ odd human rashers on the same course......utter chaos

I like the idea of Crash Bandicoot making a reappearance!!

I used to love the LMA manager series on PS1 too, FIFA manager mode doesn't compare...whats happened to manager games on consoles? They only seem to exist on PC.

A good isometric game in the vein of Cadaver or Head over Heels. I don't ask for anything more.

I'd love to see Gods, Speedball 2, Alicia Dragoon, The Chaos Engine, Thunderforce or a proper Golden Axe game give the full next gen treatment.
Thoughts and prayers.

oh yes, something in the style of Monkey II, but good comedy is just so hard to come by in games. Or perhaps a Douglas Adams adaption, done right. Like Dirk Gently.. now that would be simply awesome, my favourite book of all time made into a computer game. Wont ever happen but I shall dream.

FIST 2 - The Legend Continues Again. Either an Indie remake, a la Karateka, but much better, or a full blown release. Well, one has to have hopes!

More Ron Gilbert games; Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken. I'll take both!

I hope Frontier release Elite:Dangerous, or any version of Elite for that matter, for consoles.

Resogun proved that you can do something as basic as Dropzone with enough icing to pop your teeth.

Give me an old-fashioned, but prettied, version of
Marble Madness
Gauntlet
Centipede
Bagman
STUN Runner
Crystal Castles
Zaxxon
Beach Head
Baldur's Gate PS2 versions

Good ideas there - a Head-over-Heels style puzzler, Beyond Good and Evil 2, revive Rollcage and a decent Gauntlet reboot (though that may be one like Sonic, best left in 2D).

What I'd like to see is a new Crimson Skies console game.
