The best PlayStation?

What PlayStation do you like the most? Not like slim models or anything, just ps1, ps2 and ps3.

Has to be PS2 for me!

Edit

PSVITA and PSP are aloud also.

I love the original fat shiny ps3. Lovely design and it had that lovely heavy premium quality feel to it.

I also loved the touch buttons at the front, the off button at the back and the fact that even though I was right next to it I could not hear a sound from it.

Very reliable too as it lasted from launch in March 2007 up to the end of last year when I traded it in towards a slim line model. :)

Good topic, crotea, despite the instant attempt at a derailment.
Although the mighty PS2 had such a healthy crop of great games I think for me the PSone is my fave Playstation overall because of the memories attached to the games I played on it. Metal Gear Solid, the best versions of Tombraider and Resident Evil, Final Fantasy 7, ParasiteEve etc to name but a very, very few. A classic console, a world changer of epic proportions and an amazing piece of home entertainment kit. Thank you, Sony. :D

PS2 by a country mile.

My second fave machine of all time after the 360. An insanely amount of fantastic games.

Sadly I doubt SONY will ever match the highs of the PS2. Yes I'm sure the PS4 will have some great games, but there is just an insane amount of fantastic games for the PS2. Yes, there was also a lot of shovelware, but many of my fave games were on this

Ico
Shadow of the Colossus
Tekken Tag Tournament
Soul Calibur 2
Burnout 3 : Takedown
Resident Evil 4
R Type Final
Persona 4
Tekken 5
Okami
Yakuza 2
Godhand
Kingdom Hearts II
Kim Possible : What's The Switch
God of War 2
We Love Katamari

And yes, many of the above can be found on other platforms, but I prefer them on the PS2 (mostly)

Theres many more, just some of my faves.

I also have no love for the original fat model, Black or Silver slimline all the way

The slimline machines are pretty trashy though.

I'd only go for a SCPH-9000* onward over a phat possibly.

My SCPH-39003 has to be the most well rounded version of the PlayStation 2. The SCPH-5000* had the laser coil issues and the models before the 39003 had various other issues that were addressed in the 3900*. Very nice heatsink under the bonnet with a fairly quiet fan compared to earlier units. Was playing on mine for a good few hours today and there was little to no heat still.

loved the PS1 but would have to pick the PS2, great machine with brilliant games, little wonder it effortlessly destroyed the dreamcast.

The original model PS3, since its backward compatible with PS1 and PS2.

For both aesthetic and gaming reasons I would choose the redesigned PSone. It's the best revision of a Playstation console for me.

Playstation one changed everything and I have the fondest memories with the games from that time period. Resident evil has never been the same since.

My most played and favourite is the PSP. 50% because of its emulation capabilities though.

I can't choose between them. They were all my favourite console of their respective times, and I think they are all excellent.
