Cex not buying old games consoles.

Post by the1980gamer » Sun Dec 01, 2013 5:33 am

Just a heads up for anyone who doesn't know.
Cex are no longer buying/trading in original xbox,GameCube,ps2 games and
Consoles any more.

However they still have loads of games they are getting rid of and the
Prices are really cheap for those games starting at 5p so get them before they
Are gone.

Don't know about all cex but Wimbledon, Kingston and Fulham near me
Are not taking any more of those games/consoles in.
I spoke to the manager of Wimbledon and he told me they do t really sell any more
And they are clearing shelf space.

I find it amazing how many of them already have loads of xbox one and ps 4 consoles
That have already been traded in.

Remember though that CeX is a franchise so each store has its own slightly different rules - just something to bear in mind to ease any disappointment.

Easiest to just check the prices on the website.

Manchester Arndale seems to have dropped about 90% of its original xbox stock to sub £1.

The PS2/Xbox/GC section is pretty small in my store. Probably best to buy online for the wide variety.

So I decided to buy online and build up my original Xbox collection and literally went price low/high and ordered 110 games which came to £87.70

There where more that I wanted but I thought I should leave it there for now as I'm supposed to be putting money away for a ps4.

Too many to list but I picked up a lot of fps, RPGs , and a few shmups I've wanted/never played

Never ordered such a huge volume of stuff like that. I wonder if you will get a huge sack of games delivered like the ones they used to show on Blue Peter!

checked out both our local stores today. Absolutely no changes in PS2/xbox/gc prices in either. Which is a shame, as they've one or two GC rarities in the Merry Hill cex.

The Vultures had hit my Cex and loads of the PS2 and X Box games had been hoovered up.. The games that where left where between 5p and £1 the only expensive games was Conker's Bad Fur day for £15 on X Box, and Star Wars Republic Commando £3..

Gamecube games where still full whack with some very expensive Dora the Explorer and Hello Kitty games..

I bought Red Ninja, Maken Shoa, He Man and 505 game Paparazza all £1 and X Box dancing stage 15p and a DS Castlevania Potrait if Ruin

I suppose it's worth checking. I'm on the verge of selling my Gamecube and it might be nice to bolster the package with a bunch of cheap games!

I might be In Darlington tomorrow so may head into town to have a look. Not the best cex around though, so I won't hold my breath.
