TitanFall look ok, but I fell it will be COD with mechs. I'm a bit bored off online shooters now, played too many for too long. The only PS4 title I am really looking forward to is DeepDown. However when Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros and Monolith's X come out on Wii U, I may have lost interest in the 'next-gen'' completely, which is a thing I thought I'd never say.
I am also throwing in my lot with the Wii U this gen. My favourite games are Nintendo games and they aren't appearing on any other consoles any time soon, so it's a no-brainer.
That said, if forced to choose I'd definitely go for the PS4. As with the latter days of the PS3 there just seem to be some more interesting, innovative games - particularly the indie stuff. PlayStation has become a bit of a hot-bed for intersting stuff lately, it feels a bit like the Amiga did 20 years ago. Definitely of more interest to me than the new Xbox which frankly looks like it'll be serving up the same diet of first/third person shooters and racing games that it has since 2001. No interest whatsoever in that.
All that said, I've been looking more and more at the new consoles and I have to say I'm really struggling to tell the difference between the 360/PS3 and the Xbone/PS4. The graphical difference is barely noticeable, and the notion of paying £400 for a tiny incremental improvement is not one I relish. And most of my comparisons have been between PS3 and PS4 - I'd imagine games on 360/Xbone look even closer since the Xbox One is known to be less capable than PS4 at this point.
I had to laugh when I saw the Xbox One being advertised as 4k compatible. They couldn't even get the new CoD running at a smooth framerate at 1080p - does anyone think it's possible to make a playable action game at 4k?
