A Nintendo console without Zelda?
Been seeing so much Zelda recently due to the Wind Waker HD release on WiiU... can anyone imagine a new Nintendo console without Link? Surly he's synonymous with Nintendo now - obviously not as much as Mario but still he's unmistakeable.
Come to think of it, what was the last Nintendo console without Link? Was it the Virtual Boy or did I miss something obvious?

True! Well I've been an avid Retro Gamer reader for 4 years, written in and got the Star Letter once, and just been a general (although silent) part of the community. It's definitely time for me to get more involved - been more of a collector in recent years. It wasn't until my sales thread was pulled down that I realised I hadn't really been posting and was a consumer rather than contributor. I'm really active on two other forums - I'd not intentionally neglected this one!retrojc wrote:trying to 50?
That aside, Zelda is something that's been on my mind of late. Been obsessing over getting a CIB PAL A Zelda for NES for a few months but one has not surfaced below £80. Yesterday I bought Majora's mask, and a week ago I got a CIB copy of Zelda 2. I also got Zelda 1 for GBA (the classics series) so I could play it on the go.
Anyways, looking to start some more conversations in the areas I'm interested in. My retro interest has started to pique again so expect to hear more from me.

The Pokémon mini unsurprisingly also didn't have a Zelda title.ALK wrote:There is, its called the Virtual Boy.

Actually, there was a fan project of porting Link's Awakening to that thing. Lord knows if they ever finished it...Alarm wrote:The Pokémon mini unsurprisingly also didn't have a Zelda title.ALK wrote:There is, its called the Virtual Boy.

Re: A Nintendo console without Zelda?
While I couldn't imagine a new Nintendo console without Zelda, I'm one of those rare Nintendo fans who isn't overly fussed with the series. I suppose I can imagine a Nintendo console without Zelda as I lived it; I owned the GBA, DS, GameCube and Wii throughout their lifespans and I didn't buy nor anticipate any of the Zelda games. I eventually got some of them for cheap, but they haven't made much of an impression on me as regards to I feel about the consoles they found their way to.

Re: A Nintendo console without Zelda?
I'm aware of that but I was only referring to official releases. There are mock-ups of Zelda on the Virtual Boy too.ALK wrote:Actually, there was a fan project of porting Link's Awakening to that thing.
