Video Game Market
Leeds Town Hall - Saturday 15th March 2014

Open 10am - 4pm
1,000s Of Video Games
Collectibles, Merch & more
Everything From Spectrum, SNES, Dreamcast To PlayStation 4

Fed up of missing the bargains at the car boot sales? Annoyed at the frequent bidding wars on online auction sites? Prefer to inspect your item before buying? You're in luck!

On Saturday 15th March 2014 RetroCollect is hosting the very first UK Video Game Market in the centre of Leeds. This event will host up to 40 different traders/sellers each with their own stock of video games - old and new - allowing you to shop to your heart's content, in person, without the early morning starts or the constant refreshing to check your bids.

Expect to see countless retro & modern games, rare titles, Japanese & US import releases, video game merchandise, toys, comics & books, strategy guides, modified consoles and much much more!

And last but not least, be sure to bring along your spare games and unwanted titles. Trading is very much encouraged, and who knows, you may find that your gaming holy grail is within reach through part-exchanging and some old-fashioned car boot sale style haggling!

I went to one in Camden in 200(5)? - Was actually in Camden Underworld if i recall, but memory is fading. Might have been part of a larger thing, but I can just remember millions of video game stalls. It's also where I bought my first SFC game.

Edit : Not trying to dig, I just don't think you're the first video game collecting sellers event - you might be the biggest though.

I really like Retro Collect (not used the site much but just getting in to the podcast and following on FB and Twitter)... This sounds like a good idea, yes I am sick of ebay but what is there to stop the traders charging rip off prices and telling people to get bent when haggling? Are RC setting ground rules about this?

Well, ultimately sellers should be able to sell at ebay prices or close to, as these are what items sell for. RC should have no say over this, as it's the sellers right to charge as they please.

I'm interested though, I do a carboot stall regularly so could make the trip dependent on table costs.

Well, not far from me so I should be able to make it. Trouble is, sellers know what everything is worth, a good strategy is to wait until the end of the day when they don't want to take stock back and start dropping prices, from my experience anyway...

Yeah, woops. Obv Completed sold listing prices. silly prices will egt laughed at. If RC are asking for £100 a stall or more, then sellers will have to raise prices

unfortunately we cannot dictate prices to traders (otherwise id make everything 50p and buy all the games in the room  ) but we are aiming to get enough of a range of professional and private sellers to get a good range of items and prices, so the law of averages means there will be some bargains. I'll be having a stall primarily to get some space back in my house, im not interested in making a profit or high prices, if you look at everything i've sold on here over the years i always price below ebay so you will def get some cheap deals on my stall at least :-) (and help my hoarding problem in the process)

we are looking to price it at a level where its open to people like me or other forum members to offload some personal collection too. We will be absolutely nowhere near £100 a stall either that is guaranteed :-)

if anyone is seriously interested in taking a stall let me know via events@retrocollect.com
