Having played the demo some more I'm getting more and more encouraged by most of what I've played. If the full version has fixed the frame rate I'd say it's easily the best since PES6.

Is pro evo still going! I didn't know :o not that it matters, modern footy games have for too many gimmicks and controls for me, I'll take 1 (maybe 2) buttons and 8 directions thank you very much.

Oh I'll have to have a razz on FIFA 14 I guess being as it will be free with my XO :(

This is the pinnacle of footy games IMO:

Had a go on the PS3 demo couple of times and I'm really impress by it. Yep it does felt strange when playing for the first time and I noticed those changes made after the previous game. The movement tend to be more smoother as it help defined the physical presence of the players. Did struggled to win back the ball few times and it took few AI team-mates to pressure the opponent to regain possession.

Really like it at the moment.

I hope it returns to form as have always been more of a Pro Evo player.

I just wish Konami would do a full on arcade type game in the style of the N64 ISS games.

I really love Pro Evo / ISS on the PS1 and PS2 but still can't get to grips with the releases on this generation, had Pro Evo 2013 and didn't think much to it and the Pro Evo 2014 demo hasn't impressed me, I scored on my first attack from a kick-off, a Defoe header against an Italian defender :?

ISS was one of those games that we hammered when I had my first place and always had mates round getting drunk and messing stuff up and as such has a place in my heart LOL

At last! Someone else who doesn't think that football games require multitudes of buttons.

And yes Football Champ is the king of arcade football games.

Demo #2 for PES 2013 was absolutely fantastic but the final product ended up being nowhere near as good. I haven't played the latest demo but if it's as good as people are saying it is (any favourable comparisons with PES6 are enough to get me excited) then I hope Konami stick with it this time.

^ Well Konami themselves have stated that unlike last year the demo is completely representative of the final product.

And as for the lack of licenses, that's something that doesn't bother me cos there's always user-uploaded option files available on fan sites to fix all that.

Same here. I've tried with FIFA and Pro Evo but I just haven't got the time to give them.

Hammered the demo and it is very good, it's just not good enough to make me buy it over Fifa. There are still glaring issues with the keepers and the shooting isn't very satisfying. It looks amazing and does play very well though. Fifa wins because the player movement is so much better when on the ball this year. Pretty sick of Fifa in recent years but this year is a marked improvement.
Both are worthy games though.
