The magnificent Kaboom! (and for PAL gamers - you really need to play the NTSC version which is full speed!)

Bomberman - any version - Saturn is probably the ultimate - though Suoer, Generations and Blast (WiiWare) are all superb too.

First one I thought of was Short's Fuse, although that was a re-release of an earlier game called 'Bombscare' with a different name.

Booty also had loads of bombs in it, anytime you picked up any treasure it was potentially booby trapped with a bomb and you'd have to run away before it exploded, great game though.

And of course, there's always Zero Wing. All your base are belong to us, and all that.

Sig pic temporarily removed...The Magnificent 7 will ride again 8)

This. I spent so many hours at work playing this and the feeling when your planting/defusing a bomb is such a tense one, knowing your a sitting duck and could get wiped out at any second.

DoraemonTheCat wrote:I never tire of using Pipe Bombs in Duke Nuken 3D.

The fact that you can throw them........and wait.......and keep waiting.......just until an opponent is nearby and BOOM

There's one Boss level why you are best served leaving them all near each other and get said Boss to follow you to them. And press the detonator. Chain reaction. It's just beautiful to watch

Also throwing them into any Pools/water areas and killing anything within the blast radius (Duke It Out in DC - Memorial Service being a great example)

"Hail to the King, baby"
And this. Loved throwing a couple round a corner where I knew enemies were, detonating them and then going round to see the bodies on the floor. Felt really brutal using pipe bombs.

I now know what I'm doing when my son goes to bed!

Antiriad2097 wrote:Deactivators on the Spectrum. I picked up the tape from a bargain bin not expecting great things of it, but it turned out to have quite the hook. It doesn't look like much, but it runs nice and smooth and the gameplay all comes from the level design. In theory its a simple puzzle game with a timer, but it manages to escalate itself above that (or at least do it to a better standard).

in order:
Mario kart double dash - wario and walugi for me love lobbing those massive explosive b*stards! Bomb battle mode is ace.
truxton - the lethal skull of death (with pause the game cheat on the md)
parodius - the little guy who rides the paper plane drops little bomb fellas, sometimes they bounce in a comedy fashion, float in rubber rings or sometimes the leg it across the landscape and get knackered and take a breather. genius.
