Mario World
Mortal Kombat (I know there was no blood, or proper finishing moves, but the graphics and game play blew other ports versions out of the water)
Super Mario All Stars (everything you could want and more)
Super Probotector (Great music - Nice use of slap bass)
Super Bomberman

International Superstar Soccer is a great laugh 2 player, as is the original NBA Jam, I prefer the SNES verison over the MD one, it's near gaming perfection.

Also wasted MANY hours playing 2 player Stunt Race FX too. Brilliant!

Didn't ISS become Pro Evo?, or am I thinking of a different franchise?......was probably the best console footy game at the time though.

For me its a straight fight between Super Mariokart, Super Bomberman, and Super Puyo Puyo.

Been playing SNES Lost Vikings this week, and only just discovered that it has a co-op 2 player mode
Need to get a m8 round to test it out......

Still an awesome game 8)

I used to love playing Super Smash TV with a mate, awesome game.

A couple that haven't been mentioned:
Sunset Riders (might be a bit pricey but it's a brilliant western-themed run 'n gun shooter)
Zombies (NTSC version is known as Zombie Ate My Neighbors, another really fun co-op game)

I don't mean to dig up old threads (in a sense it's like digging up old games :D) but it's quite refreshing to see people bring up Street Fighter as one of the best games on the SNES (and especially best 2 player game). Talk to any current gen gamer and they wouldn't even give it a thought. I remember owning Super Street Fighter II and my friend asked whether he could borrow it in exchange for Super Mario World. My response to him was simply "f**k off". No disrespect to what I consider the best Mario game in the series (and Mario Bros 3). But SSF2 was much more exciting to have. It was like bringing the hype of arcade gaming from that generation to your household.

Other great 2 player games imo were Super Swiv, Super Bomberman 5, Super Double Dragon, Mortal Kombat 2 and Mortal Kombat 3 (especially the Galaga part).

In Super Mario World, you had to take turns. DKC was just as frustrating.
