If any of the micro consoles end up being any good then I'm absolutely going to shell out. Unfortunately the Ouya seems to have a lot of problems at this present time, but I'm hoping they can be overcome and it'll end up being worth my cash. From a gaming perspective, what are people's thoughts at this time? Is there suitable diversity? A strong enough selection of games actually worth playing?

CVG has reviewed the Ouya they aren't happy about especially you have to open a account via internet either a credit card or store card before the console starts properly :(

Apparently it's selling out all over the place and sales have gone beyond expectation.

Love to hear some feedback on this. Still getting reports of laggy controls at the moment. Not to mention the limited storage space on the device itself. Says there's 8G of internal storage but only 5.8 is available to the user & you can't store games on a USB stick either. Although, any add-ons you can apparently.

I was going to get one but I wanted to wait to see how the reviews where going to be like...and I can safely say I'm not going to get one as of yet. I really wanted to start uploading my games I make to the console but if it seems to be having problems then I might just need to wait until it's all solved.

It was the only positive I have from my 2 hour experience with the console. And I don't currently own a Megadrive and the Ouya was free, so basically it's a good thing for me. Plus, as it's emulation and HDMi, the usual filters etc actually make Megadrive look good on a HD TV. Not something the real console can do...

Purely interested in this now as an emulation device, rather than using the laptop all the time. Although MAME is allegedly a right cnut to get going, if at all? Either way, it seems that the Ouya goes quite some way to meeting this simple need, so I'll be getting it in eventually. :)

According to CVG Game have had to pull advertising for the Ouya after images of a SNES emulator were included in the list of titles available.

Game, there. A company who couldn't even get a line of credit with Nintendo a year ago appearing to encourage piracy of their games.

Brilliant move.

I thought it was just the mention of the SNES emulator that they pulled, not the actual advertisment?

But I do agree with you, and thought about that exact same thing (Game struggling to get credit with Nintendo last year) when I read the article.
