What are your favorite monochrome Gameboy games?

Post by final.fantasy.unlimited » Mon Mar 05, 2007 2:31 pm

Mine are:

Final Fantasy Legend, Pokemon Yellow, Dragon Warrior I & II, Fist of the North Star, Super Star Wars Return of the Jedi, Tetris, Kirby's Pinball Land, Super Mario Land, any games that use the Gameboy camera and/or printer because they're so rad just for using that feature, and I want import titles but can't afford them!

How about you?

I like Duck Tales and Qix, and the Galaga/Galaxian compilation is a good laugh.

As far as unknown semi-classics go, try Quarth, a bizarre fusion of a vertically scrolling shoot-em-up and tetris. Great fun.

  Please don't make me relive the horror of the week we played Qix in the retroleague.

I'm just going for a lie down :?

Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge is easily my fave GB game. The gameplay is as tight as a duck's arsehole and the music is wonderful, considering the limitations of the hardware. It's strange then that this gem of a game is sandwiched between two complete turds - The Castlevania Adventure and Castlevania Legends are both godawful.
