Obvious guess would be the PC, but I want to experience the best 'other' version

some will probably say ps1 and some will probably say jag but the pc version has to be the best because you don't just have the original game but mods for extra levels,hi res graphics and mods that can make the game pretty much completely different,hell there's even a mod to make it just like the ps1 version anyway.don't know about the jag version.

edit - just had a look and there seems to be jag style mods about.

You should try running Doom via a source port (like ZDoom or GZDoom). Old-school Doom, running on Windows 7 @ 1080p is a very fine thing indeed :)

PC via zDoom. Mouse look > everything.

N64 > PS1.

PS1 Doom is pretty epic. Only downside is some of the levels and enemies like the Icon of Sin are missing from Doom 2.

N64 Doom is worth a shout too. If you can get over the N64 controls there's a lot to love there.

PS1 here too. First one I played and still not bettered since, although I did rather enjoy the GBA version

Playstation Doom for me please. Great soundtrack and a few graphical extras like the animated skies etc.
