Really Short Games

I always remember getting through Zone of the Enders in about 4hours and thinking 'is that it!?' I really enjoyed it and was a little upset at how short the whole experience was. Anyone else got through something extremely quickly and feel a little underwhelmed by a title? Nowadays a lot of games crowbar in a lot of 'filler' to pad out longevity over replay value. What's better, a game that takes an age to get through, or a game that will get you coming back again and again..

No Fighters,Shmups etc here thanks

Full Throttle by Lucasarts. 6 hours or so, but I enjoyed it so much I didn't feel cheated. It was very short, but absolutely perfect.

I hate padded out games. The GTA games are the worst for this and I've never finished a single one.

The Curse of Monkey Island - another Lucasarts title!

I'd saved the game and then went away for the weekend, thinking I was only about half-way through. Got back and completed the remainder in about 30 minutes.

Liberation Maiden on the 3DS eShop is the most recent example that I've played. I was having good fun, starting to get into it, get to the first big boss battle and then...the credits roll. The epitome of a 'is that it?' game, in my opinion. My 3DS Activity Log shows I played this for exactly one hour. It wasn't just the gameplay that reminded me of Zone of the Enders!

Recently, Limbo.

I think I cried at the end for some reason but man, that game was for me anyway, an emotional roller coaster!

Think I finished it in two sittings, three hours or so.

EDIT :- I just got back from the pub, so my memory may be a bit hazy at best.

Spirit of Speed on Dreamcast, after 30 seconds I turned it off.

That's pretty short I reckon!

(I'm so funny)

Using a whole number of glitches and bugs with the scenery, sure. Legitimately, a lot longer.

The original Luigi's Mansion on Gamecube only lasts about 5 hours. Still pretty good fun for the duration though, and the kind of game that you'll always go back to.

Same with Ico on PS2/PS3.

The Force Unleashed II. Completed in about 3 1/2 hours, but felt cheated. Oh, it was good, but as soon as it got into it, it had finished. Another one is Ghostbusters The Video Game. Completed in just over two hours but didn't feel the need to replay it.

And Magicland Dizzy can be done in under 50 minutes if you know what your doing *cough*or use a guide*cough*

Also need to mention Rogue Warrior here....completed it in about 3 hours on normal difficulty.

Then I discovered that the difficulty achievements didn't stack, and so decided 'screw it' and started again, the next 2 playthroughs only took about 1.5 to 2 hours each as I knew where nearly of all the enemies were by that point.

I got all of the single player achievements over the course of one long evening whilst there was nothing on the telly.

Dizzy - Prince of the Yolk Folk on the CPC. After playing the immense Spellbound Dizzy, this felt like a quick fart in a blender.

I would say Aliens: Infestation for DS, I was kinda bummed to finish it so quickly! Really good game though!
