What's your favourite arcade game?
So, I've been playing some old arcade games on MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) recently, and I'm really seeming to enjoy them (Especially Ms. Pac Man and Donkey Kong)! So, what is your favourite arcade game?

Incredibly hard to choose just one, but I will go with Pit-Fighter

An easy one: Atari's Star Wars coin op in all its vector glory.
My favourite 'unknown' one would be Funky Jet. Rarely hear any mention of that anywhere but from the players I competed with when it was brought to my attention.

if i take the amount of time spent with it as the main criterium, it'll have to be Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and Final Fight

Time Pilot. It can feel unfair at times, but it is tremendously satisfying when you get in the zone.

When I was a kid it would have been either Star Wars or Astro Blaster - fantastic games, both of them are difficult to emulate properly with MAME though...

There's been a Star Wars cab at almost every event I've been to (thanks again Colin), so MAME needn't be your only source for these things.
Time Pilot crossed my mind too, but despite the nostalgia for the original I'd always opt for Time Pilot '84 when it came to the crunch, it really is a superb game that rewards repeat play.

Changes all the time, depending on what I'm playing most... Currently playing a lot of Scramble, Tutankham, Pooyan and Exerion, but in terms of "all-time" favourite it'd be either Time Pilot, Joust or The Simpsons.
My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)

I wasn't aware of Time Pilot '84. I'll have to check that out. Thanks Antiriad!Antiriad2097 wrote:There's been a Star Wars cab at almost every event I've been to (thanks again Colin), so MAME needn't be your only source for these things.

Quite a few, and most of them are pretty universal but I can whittle it down to a few...
Bubble Bobble,
Final Fight,
Outrun,
Galaga,
Hammerin' Harry
Aliens the arcade game
