State Of Decay

Post by The Beans » Tue Jun 04, 2013 5:45 am

Possibly coming this week at 1600pts.

Any interest in this on here? It's an open world survival zombie game along the lines of the very excellent DayZ ARMA 2 mod on the pc but I believe it's single player only.

The wiki explains it all better if you've never played DayZ:

Latest vids on yutube look a bit rough so I'm surprised this might be coming to XBLA this week. I'm still interested though. I was going to pick up Call Of Jaurez: Gunslinger today but I'll wait to see whether State Of Decay lands on wednesday I think.

I watched the trailer when it was on the dash a couple of weeks back, looks interesting but a bit ropey. The car bits kinda put me off too.

Aye, it's a big ask if the game's dog rough. Depends on the size of the gameworld for me and just how buggy it all is. I'll check out the demo and see what's what. I can't see it being as good as DayZ but if it's reasonably close(ish) at 1600pts I'll be up for a single player DayZ style experience that has no pc gubbins dragging it down.

The fact its out with no reviews gets the alarm bells ringing. 1600 points is a lot for something which is a bit of an unknown and quite frankly looks decayed around the edges. Might be a wait and see what the reviews are like and if there any more news on Day Z after E3.

Reviews seem to be very good for it. Get past the average graphics and theres a very good game in there seem to be the jist. Still at 1600 points I might wait for it to come down in price

This game looks and sounds the biz!

Determined to get through Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite before i do though, so it may be a while.

This is only single player right?

I think I just may wait for the standalone version of DayZ.

I've passed on this for now. The game seems fairly solid and does have the DayZ vibe about it but there were bugs readily apparent in the demo.
I've already got plenty of stuff to play and I'm willing to wait for a price drop and patches I think.

I went and bought it. So far I've played about an hour and am reasonably impressed. However there are some graphical bugs and I was disappointed that there was no proper intro literally press start to play and boom you're bashing a zombies head in, no cool intro movie setting the scene. I am reliably informed that DAY Z has no intro either so maybe that's why.

I so nearly bought it. I hovered over the BUY option.
It's a long term game though and it would be added to my already sizeable XBLA tower of shame. :(

I bought Call Of Jaurez: Gunslinger instead. Adding to my tower of shame but at least not in a way as large as State Of Decay would.

It's the crappiest rationale for failing to resist yet another shiny new game but it's all I've got.

Im fairly far into this now and im really quite enjoying it. It definitely has some cool original elements. The game world is pretty massive too. :D

Had an hour on it last night and I'm enjoying it so far. It's shame it's buggy as hell because some of them are quite jarring and do ruin the experience somewhat.

Hopefully see a patch soon.
