The Snes Knocks Teh Spots Off The Megadrive!!!!1111
OK a bit over the top, but I think it's time to return to the 90's, and have a good old console war!
(Inspired by the PS3 launch thread).
Let the playground banter begin!
Played Street Fighter II Championship Edition for the Megadrive the other day, it's not quite as bad as the Amiga version, but it's pretty damn average, do not even get me started on the soundtrack. The Snes versions of all Street Fighters games are so much more tidier than this.
Another game I played was Castlevania on the Megadrive, though they are different games, the Megadrives Castlevania did very little for me, though I highly rate Castlevania IV on the Snes.
The Megadrive has Gunstar Hero's, BUT the Snes has Super Probotector (Contra 3).
The Megadrive has Sonic, the Snes has Super Mario World (I never rated Yoshi's Island), but I think those games are pretty even.
(Megadrive fans don't take this to heart, it's purely for humor, I actually don't mind the Megadrive, but I was a Snes lad growing up).

Looking at the topic, I done a poll about those two console. See this link: http://www.retrogamer.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3221James Bond wrote:OK. A bit over the top, but I think it's time to return to the 90s, and have a good old console war!

Just sold off my Megadrive with 55 games and kept my snes with 100+ games. The megadrive whilst having a good few exclusive classic games, just could not hold up against the playability of some of those Nintendo classics. Nintendo Ruled then, but the age of the DC Sega was king.
WANTED: ANY SNES or GAMEBOY GAMES, OR EMPTY BOXES, INSTRUCTION MANUALS or WHITE INNER TRAYS, going for FULL SETS of both.
I love both machines, probably equally.
Although I have to point out, MicroMachines 2 Turbo Tournament on the Mega Drive is vastly superior to the Super NES version of the same game.
The sound effects are horrible on the Super NES version as are the graphics, and come to think of it, the handling feels completely wrong too.
