Looks like Tekken 7's Story Mode is pretty damn flimsy, though there's always Treasure Battle to keep you busy offline

Further on the Tekken front, seems dataminers have found clues to on-disc stuff. Nothing exciting from the sounds of it, skimpy swimsuit DLC, some IM@S stuff and the return of Tekken Bowl

Ah Tekken Bowl, so many hours wasted on that... I'll end up getting T7 eventually for Akuma, but I'm still playing SFV and I've not even got Injustice 2 yet so it'll probably take me a while to get T7.

My missus just bought me an XBone for my birthday. Great to be able to play some of the multiplatform stuff (I'm usually a Nintendo guy) but holy christ the system architecture is bad. So slow to download anything (FIFA took around 10 hours!) and navigating the menus is a total ballache. Apparently I've been spoiled by the Wii U interface? And the downloading off the disk thing is totally ridiculous. Its like they designed it to be the least streamlined device imaginable.

Still, Red Dead 2 is on the horizon and I couldnt be more excited.

How fast is your internet connection? It's kind of important when you're downloading stuff. I've downloaded lots of things on the One, including the FIFAs, and they didn't take that long to download. Ten hours seems stupidly excessive and would indicate your broadband is a bit weak.
If it's slower than me, dumber than me and it tastes good ... tough titty.

If I have to do anything on the One around the 2gb mark i.e.; updates or installs (2gb updates! Never dreamt of such a thing!) it's usually an all evening job. Reminds of installing cpc464 games but the longest they were was about half an hour.

Helps to have a PS3 to fire up while I wait but the updates almost seem to be syncranised.

It does sound like your internet is really slow, it should never take that long. If you turn off power saving mode it will download updates overnight though

My internet connection is quite slow, so I don't blame the Xbone for how long it takes to download.

That said, it's annoying as heck to switch it on and wait ages for it to boot up and connect to Live. The PS4 definitely seems to switch on quicker.

Yeah I don't have any problems with connecting to live or downloads, both are relatively quick for me.

You can change it to Instant On in the settings

That's interesting.

Does that involve the setting where it auto downloads updates and stuff? Not sure if Mrs Oxide will appreciate the increase in the electricity bill just to appease my impatience.

My Ps4 improved considerably through a TP link by a factor of 10. Useful if you are far from router.

I think I'll finally get involved in this generation (Wii U aside) and get an Xbox One X when it comes out later in the year.

Wonder how good the OG Xbox backward compatibility will be this time round? It was pretty ropey on the 360, but they've had enough time to prepare it, and the host hardware should have the grunt.
