Remember "TMNT Tournament Fighters"?

I completely forgot about this game until a friend of mine downloaded it last night. What a flashback!

What were your thoughts on the game? It's ok, IMO. Better back then, but still decent 20 years odd later.

The best alternative to Street Fighter, at least on the SNES. I still play it today and it plays extremely well. Fast and fluid with a good combo system and some awesome super moves.

Never played the MD game.

Ditto that, best non-Street Fighter, Street Fighter game on the SNES.

Sits firmly in my 'never understood the appeal' pile along with all mortal kombats and Eternal Champions.

Looked good watching it being played but ultimately lacks any real replay value for me even after many attempted replays to see if i could discover what made people enjoy it back then.

Quality game.

For another surprisingly good competent 16-bit fighter, give Power Rangers: The FIghting Edition a go on the SNES. Not to be confused with any of the other Power Rangers fighting games, like the terrible MD one.

Other way round. Natsume used the same engine to develop a Gundam fighting game.

I love(d) this game. I remember renting it when I was back home in Ireland. Everyone in the block new found out and because they were all tight asses, I soon had about 15-20 kids (who I all knew of course) waiting to play the game. Suffice to say, it was a great day and memory

Tournament Fighters on the MD/Genesis is awful.
It was then, and it is now. Actually, it's even worse now.

Question -

I've got an American SNES cartridge of this game that I can play on my action replay converter. But the problem is that the shadows under the fighting characters flicker continuously throughout. Why would this be?

I'm probably going to flog this game on but don't want to sell anything that could be called faulty.

Similarly, I have 2 copies of Prince of Persia on the Game Gear which both have flicker, but it's the whole screen that flickers not just the fighting sprites. Why would that be?

The MD version of this seems to be getting the flak but Ive tried both and loathed them in similar ways. Still , even Bubsy has its fans.....
