Picked up Singularity and giving that a bash at the mo. A little slow getting going.. but seems pretty decent once it picks up.

Just started playing Company of Heroes online again with a couple of mates. Epic fun.

Medal of Honor (PS3)

After a completely unimpressive and dull first hour the game's really picked up. The set pieces are very fun and the graphics look lovely. My biggest issue is the complete lack of story. Yes I'm shooting the Taliban, but why? Where? When? A little reason behind pulling the trigger would be nice. That's why I enjoyed MW2, it was ridiculous but cinematic :)

Will finish it off soon enough, seems to have been worth what I paid for it anyway

Taking a break from Gran Turismo 5, starting to remember why I'm no good at the series

Started Sly Cooper 3 instead. Seems to be taking its cues mainly from Sly 2 which isn't so bad. The platforming is as fun as ever but the tutorial sections almost sent me to sleep, its not as if I just played through the last 2 games in series back to back

Also still working through Heavy Rain. Really don't know what to think of it. On the one hand I am intrigued by the story but on the other hand it feels like the plot is progressing incredibly slowly...

I enjoyed Heavy Rain... although its plot is somewhat predictable.. imo. I certainly won't spoil it though.

Spiderman Total Mayhem - I can't believe just how much gametime is in this! I decided I'd 'quickly beat it' today, figuring that after 4 stages it'd be coming to a close. An hour and a half later and I'm still going! For the 59p I paid for it this app is just incredible.

I've been playing more Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes.

I know the game gets written off as a Dynasty Warriors clone, but it's actually considerably more varied than the DW games. Yes, the basic gameplay is the usual hack and slash at hordes of incompetent enemies, albeit using some over-the-top attacks. But the missions themselves, and some of the enemies, provide a far more varied experience.

Some of the missions are straight battles in which you need to capture bases before proceeding to the final boss, but others add additional tasks. Examples include racing an enemy general to a certain point on the map, excorting specialist soldiers and evading Tadekatsu Honda (portrayed in the game as a giant cybord with a jet pack, shoulder-mounted cannons and lightning-generating lance). There are also steampunk style vehicles acting as bosses in some levels.

It certainly won't set anybody's world alight, and the need to play through as each character multiple times to see everything may discourage some people, but this is an enjoyable enough game, and games are meant to be fun, right?

That is one TOUGH game, be warned. That's why I'm playing Kirby's Adventure! Strange for a pretty blokey 28 year old, I admit...

Salamander Portable (PSP) - Credit-fed through XEXEX (my favourite Konami shmup, worth tracking this collection down for on its own) and Salamander 2, currently working on the original Salamander. I prefer these games to Gradius, honestly (which is why I'm baffled by the inclusion of MSX Gradius 2- anyone know? If they wanted to pad the collection out, they could've added the Thunder Cross games, they've got as much to do with Salamander as XEXEX does...)

Luminous Arc 2 (DS) - Up to Chapter 3, I've been playing it bit-by-bit. Actually really liking it so far (which is a change, as anything remotely RPG-like is usually poison to me) as while the battle mechanics are relatively simple (nothing too taxing here) it's nice to dip in to for a battle then dip out again (the streamlined interface helps) and the script is surprisingly funny at times ("Let your manly tears flow, soldier!" "I promise you sir, I'm crying on the inside.")
