Re: What are you currently playing?
After getting MGS3 cheap off Aztecca recently, I've decided to finally (finally!) play through Metal Gear Solid 2 start to finish. That means me giving it a proper go, without getting annoyed with it and turning it off after 10 minutes as I've done previously. I've always liked the 'quirky' bits in the MGS games, so I've decided to treat it less as a game and more as a cinematic experience, plus I've wimped out and stuck in on 'Very Easy' so I don't have any problems with it (admittedly, I'm crap at stealth games) and can try and have a bit of fun. Will I be converted? Time will tell....

That's how I feel about every Halo title ever. I don't get the fuss about those games at all. I've really tried to see what the big deal is everytime as well.gmintyfresh wrote:Halo ODST - I still think it's a bit average

Fallout 3: GOTYE
After entering a state of shock over how much room on my HDD it needs, I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

I really like it, it looks alot cleaner, makes nicer noises and generally has a more... mature? feel.
Also agree with the improved performance in speed, much needed!

Knights of the Round on the SNES (played on Wii with SNES pad
) and it's really good, it has a dedicated block button which the later Golden Axe games would have benefited from. It's a solid game but I'm still loving Golden Axe 2/3 a bit more as they play smoother and have more appeal to me than KotR on SNES. But I might really like it the more I play.
Also some N64 goodness,, been really craving a go of 1080 for no apparent reason and I've been loving it. Just confirms to me that it's still the greatest snowboarding game ever made, looks and sounds lovely but it;s that satisfying gameplay that is so unique. Pulling off a 720 mid race and actually landing it feels great, let alone a 1080. It's just pure class. Also been playing some Star Fox 64, F-Zero X, Perfect Dark and Bangai O.
I'm starting a new job on Tuesday, one that actually pays well so I'll have a bigger disposable income and I'm looking at maybe getting a bit more serious about my N64 collecting, maybe even getting back to Saturn again.

been playing mostly SSFIV on PSN. But most of the day has been spent completing Super Mario 64 and Lylat Wars on the N64.

Re: What are you currently playing?
Sin & Punishment 2. I was taken by surprise at how, erm, censored the visuals were. Compared to the high def games I've been playing for a few months seeing the Wii's visuals was a right shocker! That said, when the game's in motion it looks awesome, so many bright lights and explosions, it hurts my eyes to play more than a few stages at a time. After I got used to the controls I found the game brilliantly easy to play and great fun (on easy XD). Mastering the charge shot, evade and the counter, using all three together to avoid damage and rack up a score is bloody hard!

I think on a technical level the main reason is for Kinect integration.Sepp Salerno wrote:Whats so differnt about it. Is there a point in changing it?
For non kinect users the main benefits are that its alot quicker to move about the dashboard and it looks alot nicer in that it has a more clean look.
The avatars have also been slightly 'humanised' in proportion.
The main thing to note that its nothing like the big change from the old 'blade' dash to the NXE.

Had a session on Dead Space last night and this afternoon.
Haven't played it for a while and went from chapter 2 to chapter 8.

Re: What are you currently playing?
As I finished Metal Gear Solid 4 recently I'm cracking on with Agarest Generation of War now.
As all my other current gen games are Halo (to play multiplayer with the girlfriend..) and fighters I consider this to be my active game. When I complete it I'll get something else. Makes sense to me, hopefully I can keep it up.
