Smuggler's Run (PS2). A game which I traded away rather hastily many years ago after I got annoyed by it's super-tough AI police. I picked up another copy for £1.50 yesterday to see if it was really that tough or simply me being crap! Find out next week; same retro time, same retro channel!

This morning I played Need For Speed Underground 2 on PS2.

I didn't like it.

After playing Burnout 2, I was left dismayed at the poor crash animations the NFS2U incorporates.

Also, after watching America's Wildest Police Chases (or whatever the heck it's called), I hope we see a Burnout style game that features "photo realistic" car crashes from multiple angles. Looking at the screenshots for the next Burnout, maybe my prayers will be answered shortly :)

Or maybe some of the guys over Polyphonic should have a bad week and just go mental with the Gran Tourismo licence and make something similar 8)

Car crashes are simply cool to watch - so long as nobody gets badly injured.

Kororinpa - Wii - my favourite game on the Wii. Easy to complete, not so easy to get all gold cups.
Tactics Ogre - PSX via PSP - Just bought a new PSP with open firmware and I've stuck this on - the only RPG I've ever really liked. Great handheld fodder. If only the NGPC iteration of Ogre Battle had got a release here.
Rhythm Tengoku - GBA - Seems I'll be playing this forever.

Pilotwings 64 (N64)
Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (NES)
Super Off Road (NES)
Salamander : Life Force (NES - goddamn it's a bit harder than Gradius!)

I am going to go back to Pilotwings 64 and do it from scratch again as I enjoyed it so much.
Why hasnt anyone done a new update for the new consoles is beyond me.

Sonic 3

had never played it before. Liking it, but Sega didn't seem to develop the games in this series. It's more like Sonic 1.2.
at least it offers more of a challenge than the original

I would have thought it would be a good candidate for a Wii conversion with flightstick style gestures or something.
