Got Fallout 3 today so starting on that whilst it's still light out. When it gets dark it's time for Dead Space...

Back on Pro Evo, finally ploughing into Champions Road - just won the Euro Club League, getting hold of my first few 5☆ players, and have bought the private jet for international tournaments.

Ugh, Mass Effect is doing my head in, yet I'm still playing it. Fought my way through this compound thing on a frozen planet only to find out I'm not 'levelled up' enough to beat the matriarch character at the end so will need to backtrak, anyone that has beat this game and put the hours in, I salute you!

I found Mass Effect a pleasure and never once had to grind.

Played MD Rambo III last night. Such a sweet game. Short it may be, but a real fun shooter. Wish it had more of the "Op Wolf" style sections with the helicopters etc ...

Also played some more Killzone 3 with the Move/Nav controller. Totally convinced me about motion control for FPS. Makes the FPS feel fresh for the first time in an age. The game is not the greatest, but the control scheme just make it more fun than any other I have played for ages. I suspect with the DS3 it would not be a patch.

Also plugged on Motorstorm Apocalypse - Brillant, manic, beautiful racing. Still die a little too often on races which can annoy, but when it works, it is just sublime.

Wanting to play LBP2 when PSN comes back up again .....

Started Dino Crisis 3 on the Xbox today, it's a game I've been dying to play and never managed to find the time for.

Sorely disappointed, the camera is quite honestly one of the worst I have ever seen in any game, ever! the game itself is also very clunky to play, character movements are stiff and lag, especially when shooting. The story & exploration elements are solid enough but the combat is so horrid it's nigh on unplayable. You die in literally 1 hit (fair enough, if I got bitten by a dino I'd be pretty dead too  ) but the fact they appear out of nowhere (due to spawning and/or the shitty camera) it quickly becomes very frustrating.

Will I keep playing? I have an IGN guide. So...maybe... :?

Shame :(

Picked up Doctor Who: Return To Earth cheap ages ago and put it away without really intending to play it (as a huge Doctor Who fan since childhood I wanted to own it, but given it's reputation I didn't want to actually play it).

But tonight I've dug it out and had a play. It's not brilliant, but I'm not sure it deserves its reputation as the worst game on the Wii. Yes, the presentation is ropey and the whole thing is very rough around the edges - the graphics are very poor and glitch all over the shop, and the enemy AI is less than stellar. But the basic mechanics aren't too bad, and there's some fun to be had. It gets repetitive quickly, but played in short bursts it's not too horrible.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River on 360.

Not as open as Dragon Rising and with less stuff in it. Much more linear. Streamlined for the masses rather than just "dumbed down". Because it's still as tricky as the first game and can be ruthlessly unforgiving at times. The perfect antidote to the brainless COD experience.
Looking forward to the intensity of co-op on Hardcore.

Ha! I just unlocked the Soldat Crinale car in Ridge 3D, what a crazy car that is, it has a very stupid name but it's so fast and it drifts like mad! OK around the tracks I know well, not OK around the more complex
ones I don't know.

Had a bit of a retro sesh today with some SNES and NES games, Mega Man 2, Super Mario 3, Vice Project Doom, Super Street Fighter 2 TNC, Pilotwings, Star Fox, Stunt Race FX, Vortex, Area 88 and Metal Warriors. I really noticed today that now I've had my Sony Wega TV for a few weeks and after tuning it up I've really grown to love it, the consoles I have hooked up to it all look so good in RGB, it's the best tube TV I've owed by far.

Currently juggling Final Fantasy IV (psp collection) and Super Castlevania 4. Never ever got into FF but the psp package is beautiful and I am thoroughly enjoying it although I doubt I'll complete it. Super Castlevania has completely taken me by surprise, hardly got on with it before but three levels in and it's fantastic. Beautifully stark music at times and some awesome looking levels. Are PSP save states transferable? I will gladly paypal for a Castlevania X PSP save state with both Rondo and Symphony unlocked . Really don't enjoy the main psp game!

Other than those I've been giving SNES homebrew a look in whilst I save up for an actual console. I still hate Axelay though and think Contra 3 is one of the most overrated entries in the series, especially next to the incredible Probotector/Hard Corps. It's still good though :)

I've been trying my hand at Space Harrier, courtesy of the GBA Sega Arcade Gallery. I'm really not 'clicking' with the game, and the whole thing seems too chaotic for my tastes. I've made it to level 14 so far. Does anyone know how many levels there are? If there aren't too many more I might persevere...

Not sure sorry, but I love that cartridge. Absolutely fantastic versions of Outrun and Hang-On, more fun than the MD versions imo.

Yeah, Outrun and Hang On are great. I find the GBA version of Hang ON easier than the MD version, too.
