Number of lifes lost

Post by slayer6000 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:26 pm

A simple thread, just wondering which game cost you the most of your life, which game gave you square eyes, which game made you miss meals, personally i found myself addicted to many games over the years but Flimbos Quest on the C64 Gran turismo on the psx and carmageddon on the PC took many of my years away. Which game stole away years of your life
This week i av mostly been playing dreamcast

I'd say looking back over time, it would be series of games that took up so much of my life.

Geoff Crammond's F1GP series - I would spend whole seasons of real GP's racing these! Miss my tea? No, I'd miss almost everything - except sex.
The Alien Breed series - absolutely loved them and the atmosphere.
TOCA Touring car series (and GRID) - became an addiction I think! I'm getting seriously excited knowing that in 2 months I'll be stuck to GRID 2 :D
and
RTS games when they were good - All the C&C games (especially Red Alert 1 & 2), Dark Reign and the one that sucked up most time (and still does) Total Annihilation.....

There are loads of others but they are the biggest culprits!

The only time I truly committed to a series to the extent where it absorbed all my spare time was when I played Dawn of War. I would just begin to tire of playing it endlessly, when they would bring out an expansion.
My life ground to a halt.

In my teen years the PS1 resident evils. Would just play them all night long. Then later in life the mass effect games would be played all night long. Other than that I tend to use the Internet at night now rather than say read a book in bed to help me sleep

I was obsessed with Cadaver... to the point that I mapped the entire game out and wrote a walkthrough for it.

i though the thread was going to be most lives lost on a single games which would probably be ghouls 'n' ghosts (MD).

most time though would be either:
ultima IV or oblivion

i could put skyrim but i'm certain i put more time into oblivion, can't say which of those two had more time though.

Snap. I had to eventually wipe it from my hard drive and throw the disk away. Amazing how hours could seem to vanish in minutes though.
