Playable Demo of Resident 1.5 Released Online!

If you haven't been following the upcoming release of Resident Evil 1.5, a team currently in possession of the game have been injecting code into Capcom's unfinished work to make a more playable game.

One follower of the project, however, somehow got their hands on their work and attempted a quick sale via eBay. While this was quickly pulled, those restoring the game have decided to release the same version that was stolen - an unfinished demo of an unfinished game - to render any further attempts worthless.

So lucky us! If you're into video game history, Resident Evil, or prototypes in any shape or form, you might want to check this out. It works in emulators and the original hardware.

Different area's in the demo that were cut from the final game if the screen shot above is anything to go by, I never remember a shooting range appearing in the final version of RE2.
I've wanted to give RE 1.5 a try for ages, as I've always been interested in the history of this game from what I've read on the Internet.

That's brilliant I look at the video of demo & towards the end there still a few fixes need to made.
I might download the demo play it & can't wait for the actual one to come out(bugs free of course).

Getting the RE4 beta's would be a dream come true. Sadly I fear there is little chance of that happening anytime soon :(

Wasn't the Res 4 beta a more supernatural style of enemy?

Yep, on some of the bits shown you have a hooked shadowy creature stalking Leon, dolls coming to life, haunted mansion location etc. Bar Leon himself the game looked completely different.

I still live in a dreamworld where Capcom will head my cries for a REmake of RE2. Its still up there as one of my favourite RE titles and I'd love a modern update of it (either in the style of the first REmake or like RE4). Instead they released Operation Raccoon City
