Yeah - I agree.
It was like using an umbrella handle stuck in a bucket of wallpaper paste with a load of coackroaches in the bottom.
And that fire button - like a Fisherman's Friend balanced on a single biro spring.
Aweful!

Anyone prefer using a joypad?
Or even the keyboard?

redefine keys to:

q- up
z-down
i-left
p-right
m (48k) or spacebar (+/+2/128k) for fire
Mr Flibble says...
"Game over , boys!"

Well, if we're talking keyboard controls, that is actually how I prefered to play most of my games.
Q, A, O, P, Space...

On games where you couldn't redefine, I'd just select Sinclair 2 and use 6, 7, 8, 9, 0...

As I posted in another thread recently, I once got a Sega Mastersystem control stick for use on my C64.

Best joystick I evber had.

The starcursor series was/is pretty good too. Got one of them (the original bulky version) hooked up to my ST and another one (with a Sega 2 button setting mode) hooked to my Amiga.
