Best Joystick

Post by paranoid marvin » Fri Jan 27, 2006 8:44 pm

My weapon of choice has always been Comeptition Pro (microswitched)
The only joystick that could survive marathon sessions of Kick Off 2
(still needed replacing every few months though)

The worst by far was the joystick Amstrad bundled with the Spectrum+2.

I always like the Competition Pro myself. Hated those damn Quickshots.

You can buy Competition Pro's with a USB lead now. Perfect for emulation I reckon:

I've ordered one. When it arrives I'll post on how good it is.

Had the plenty of quickshots, but the competition pro was my weapon of choice too. Like the old Atari single button ones too.

maybe this should be a poll?

Who prefers microswitched joysticks?

Seemed to be more reliable, but remember getting told off as a kid for being too noisy (especially playing kick off 2 / DT's decathalon)
That final 1500m race seemed to go on forever!

I wish those things worked with VICEX on the Xbox.

I still think the Powerplay Cruiser is boss.
I had the black version, because I found the coloured models a bit garish... but the stick itself was great - nice and solid.
