Besides Retro Gamer, of course.

I used to LOVE Nintendo Magazine System when I was younger. :)

For me I think it has to be Crash.

First mag I ever bought , great cover art , articles and reviews. And although the covertapes werent brill , they were a good way of building up a quantity of games or even just trying out ones I would never have bothered with.

I'd also give a really brown nosed nod at RG - mainly for expanding my knowledge of things I grew up with , giving me insider knowledge into history of games I played to death and for keeping my main era of gaming fresh to me.

Hard choice . . .

I loved Your Sinclair and ST Format in equal measure and the Official Sega Saturn Magazine was superb but I am going to go with . . . .

Game Zone!

The original mag before it split into 2 was utterly brilliant.

Zzap 64 from the 8 bit era.

Total! and Super Play from the 16 bit era.

Official PS1 magazine from the 32bit era.

Other notable magazines were Mean Machines, Sega Saturn Magazine and 90's Edge. My overall fav is Super Play.

Crash. Actually ran to school when there was a new issue out as there was a newsagents right outside the school gates. Then reading it during lessons. Great times indeed.

DC-UK Loved reading this during the Dreamcast period.

Another vote for Super Play here, great design and covers, and always felt like the writers were passionate about the subject matter. Looking back, deffo a big influence on my gaming tastes. :)

Crash for me. Like Zzap, excellent presentation (not least the covers) a decent standard of reviewing and tons to read. Between issues 1-50odd, it was the best, and for a while the biggest selling computer mag in the 80s. I've still got the first forty issues in my cupboard

Zzap!64. Reading that mag was better than playing games sometimes. Will never forget the anticipation around the 12th of every month when a new copy would drop through the letter box, waiting for me when I got home from school.

I also think that Arcade Magazine was the best mag post Zzap. I have the complete collection now but it was a short-lived magazine with only 24 issues. Shame.
