Are there ANY turbografx/PCE lovers in here?

I hardly ever see discussions about it or recommendations. Yeah, outside of japan it was essentially a market flop, and not even officially released in some areas, but it can't be denied.

I am!

I own a PAL TurboGrafx with about 50 odd games and it was me who wrote the PC Engine Minority Report that appeared in RG Issue 106

I have also reviewed loads of TG games on my own site here: http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index. ... turbografx

I had to put my collecting for this machine on hold for a while due to lack of money but I really want to get more in the future as I love it :D

Yes, a brilliant system, still garners plenty of attention from me, anyone would be hard pushed to find a system with a better collection of shooters, arcade conversions, and some wonderful originals like the PC Kid games.

I regard the Duo-r as one of the finest machines ever made, and still looks the business today.

Personal favourites Hu Card:

R-Type I
Gunhed
Parodius
Streetfighter 2
Doraemon Meikyu Daisakusen (Crater Maze)
Outrun
Ghouls 'n' Ghosts (Supergrafx)
PC Kid 1+2
Bomberman 94
Momotaro Action Movie

CD:

Dracula X
Shubibinman 3
Rainbow islands
Pomping World
Gates Of Thunder
Super Raiden
Splash Lake
Spriggan
Ys Book 1+2
Gradius II

Although this changes weekly.

I would love to add to the 88 titles I have, but the prices are rising, and my wages and cost of living are not.

Is there anyone that doesn't love the PC Engine?

Yeah love the machine, had a GT for a while around 2000 and had a nice selection of games, I tend to stick to its system exclusives now as of course the arcade versions can be played on mame or fba etc

Good to see some love. Personally, it's my favorite system and still gets the most play.

Fantastic job on that. I generally buy the e-version of the mag now since the hard copy comes out a month later here in the states. I bought the digital version, but HAD to pick up the tangible mag just for that article. Certainly doesn't get enough coverage. I had also PM'd Darran about the possibility of a Working Designs feature. Here's to hope...

Also, I was featured in Collectors Corner a couple years back for Beyond Shadowgate.

My current collection (loose huey stack in second pic is Air Zonk, Adventure Island, Shockman, Time Cruise):
Duo had a sound cap replacement, and TE is fitted with an LCD screen for better clarity

I love my Turbo Graphx 16, I don't have too many Hu Cards but China Warrior is just HILARIOUS, I mean what the hell is that game?

Legendary Axe is fun too.

Design wise its such an odd console, I always think of it as wedged between a NES and a Mega Drive. Its like the lads at NEC sat around and went "Lets see, what can make our console stand out? I've got it!!! 1 controller port!!! No one has just one!"

I am almost ashamed of that picture to be honest, Gunboat, Falcon, Darkwing Duck, and Talespin are all pretty terrible, but I got the lot, except Blazing Lazers for about £4 each, too much for some of them though.

Sidearms is the Hucard game, on CD with new remixed CD music, a charging laser and a few other tweeks, video here, another game I really like.

Absolutely! My wife actually grew up with a TurboGrafx-16, and I always wanted one. Fast-forward to my mid-twenties, and I finally got around to buying a console and a handful of HuCards on eBay. It really is a wonderful system and an interesting piece of tech for the time. HuCards are seriously cool.

Final Lap Twin, to this day, is one of the coolest games ever. A racing game that's also an RPG? Sheer awesome. Also, Gate of Thunder & Lords of Thunder are amazing shmups.

I really wish I could buy tons more HuCards, but they're awfully pricey on eBay and at the local game shop. :| Oh well.

Lol, don't worry...there are HEAPS of PCE fans on here, me included! Never lucky enough to get one though :)
