So, I see Darksiders 2 is only a tenner on the Wii U store, can anybody tell me if I'll like it...

I'm not generally a fan of modern games, in that I'm invariably crap at them, FPSs are right out I don't have the time & spare brain capacity to invest in deep strategy or RPGs and even straightforward stuff like the Arkham games I found too fiddly to persist with...however I absolutely loved the God of War & Dantes Inferno games and they are among the few games I've played to completion in recent years, I just want something I can have a blast & smash stuff up on, with the occasional Ooooh look at that graphic moments.

It's only a tenner so I should probably just take a chance on it, but times are hard and all that.

Oh and can it be played on just the tablet while my wife hogs the tele?

Under £140 from argos with a £10 voucher chucked in.

I have to say I love the wii u it may be a small library but I don't own a poor game for it.

And the wii u is far from high priced. It's a bargain at that price.
thanks, I'll look into that - what 5 games would you recommend?
Reduced to £125 in argos now.... that's a bargain. You'll need a separate usb drive though as internal is tiny.

Wow...top 5? Tough question. In no order...

Super mario 3d world...not a massive mario fan but this looks plays and sounds amazing.

Hyrule warriors... wasn't expecting to like this but find it really relaxing to play.

Donkey kong tropical freeze.. amazing sounding and very tough platformer

Mario kart 8....great fun...and really good value dlc

Bayonetta 2... an amazing game. The sort I usually find really hard but kept at til the end. Looks beautiful

Pikmin 3... beautiful game

Wind waker...not got far in this but again looks amazing

Plus shantae from the eshop...old school platforming fun.

I've also picked up a load of cheap stuff for under a fiver like batman assassins creed etc.

Plenty to keep you going!

You can pick up the PS360 versions for £3/4 in CeX, and probably the Wii U disc for cheaper if you shop around.

Forgot to pre-order Project Zero on the Nintendo site and it's already sold out! B******

Better not be scalpers who will be listing them on ebay for £80 or something nutty.

Hope this is offered up elsewhere i.e. normal retailers.

Cheers, I don't have a PS3/360, cheapest I can see the Wii U disk for is about £12.

So does anyone think I'd like it (based on my ramblings above) & can it be played on the tablet without involving the tele?

before Darksiders came to Wii U i stated it was the closest thing you will get to a Zelda game on a non nintendo platform. it is rather good and playable off screen also.

Another limited edition alert, this time for Rodea the Sky Soldier on the Nintendo Store

http://store.nintendo.co.uk/games-wii-u ... Type=wii-u

Quite notable about this game is the first print run will have an additional disc containing the unreleased Wii version as well as a reversible Wii cover.

Cheers for the heads-up! Just put my pre-order in. At least I'm pretty much guaranteed to get my money back if I need to sell the game afterwards or if I don't enjoy it.

Also glad that GAME limit the copies to one per customer to keep the scalpers at bay.

Does anyone here play Splatoon?

I didn't really think I would like it much but pre ordered anyway and it's quickly turned into my GOTY, I've sunk well over 100 hours into it according to the Wii U play log!
It's so addictive, 3 minute matches with random team members every match, there's no need for voice chat or out like that here!

The regular free map/mode updates also keep it feeling fresh ;)

Devils Third then, eh?
I had high hopes for this... Looks like it might be a stinker though.

I'll be waiting till Devil's Third drops to like a tenner or something. The first impressions did not sound all that great and Nintendo's pretty much been like "Meh, it's a thing" as far as promoting it goes.

Oh well, 2 weeks till Mario Maker. :D
