Favourite home system from the '80's (if you were around)

Post by JetSetWilly » Sun Jan 07, 2007 4:55 pm

What, oh what, is your favourite home console or computer?

I've had a few so i cant be biased about any of them as they all have various
strengths and weaknesses.

the speccy had blippy music whereas the C64 had the SID chip for more gorgeous music but the speccy had some smooth graphics at times whereas the C64 had some blocky graphics.

but what console or home micro was the one that made you smile with its corking games and what one made you throw it out the window with its frustrating, one life, leap-of-faith platformers?

The Amiga 500, closely followed by the C64. I didn't one until 1990/91 (A500 that is), but it's an 80's machine so I guess that counts.

If it doesn't I'm forced to say the C64, 'cause that's the only computer/console I owned in the 80s.

Didn't do consoles in the 80's, so it would be Speccy 128 and Amiga 500.

C64 or Amiga. Amiga just pips it because of the leap in technology and variety of things I could do with it.

The only console I had was the 2600 for a couple of years.

Speccy for me but my mate had a C64 so it was good to see some of the games on there, some of them i preferred on the C64, some i much preferred on the Speccy

Said it a 1000 times already but i do love trying new games on different systems, had a Megadrive after my Amiga and a Gameboy and still love playing those old games now. But i really enjoy playing games on other systems, eg Master System (which i never had), PC Engine etc
