Frosty The Snowman on the C64. It's a dire game, but was always played in our house in the run up to Christmas.

I have the same problem as many of you, not particularly "festive" games that you first played at Christmas seem to do it. Opening my Spectrum Light Gun Pack on Christmas day and playing Operation Wolf, Bullseye, etc, but out of all them, the music used for Missile Ground Zero / Robot Attack was AWESOME.

Few years later, the Amiga 600, and Zool, Pinball Dreams, Striker, and the Amiga Action coverdisk combo of Alien Breed 2 demo and a game I don't think ever got released... Dinosaur Detective Agency. The music on that was suitably festive.

And then the PC... downloading a lot of MOD files from the MOD Archive is always good, and there's a suitable amount of Christmas ones on there.

I don't know. I think in my old age >ahem< I'm appreciating family time more than gaming time now.

Shenmue always reminds me of Christmas as I completed it whilst on my short Christmas break from work. And it's not retro, but Animal Crossing on the DS always puts me in that festive spirit with the snow falling & that background music playing.

Hotel Dusk. Not only is it set at Christmas, I first played through it in the run up to the festive season. It's now something of a tradition, I always play through the game again at Christmas time.

Ooh - almost forgot, a non-cr@p Santa game recently:

from Little Shop of Pixels, for the Speccy. Best on a 128 because of the jolly tunes. Lovely sprites and animation.

Not sure if it leaves you in quite the jolly festive spirit though as it's blimmin' 'ard!

Frankly, there's nothing more Christmassy than PSX Doom with the lights off & the sound cranked up.

G-Police, Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider... only because these were the first games I played on my PS1 which I had for Christmas in '97.

Pandemonium seems to make feel a bit festive too.

I still have the CRT TV I had from when I was a child, and to be honest, when I boot up anything on that thing, it takes me back to all my childhood christmases. From beating up thugs all Christmas in Streets of Rage, to the relaxing walks around Dobuita, spending my virtual yen on arcades and toy capsules in Shenmue.

Johnny Platform Saves Christmas, an 80pt XBL indie game that's very retro in style and very good.

World of Illusion on the MD. Came with the console, and was the first thing me and my brother played. Something seemed appropriate about playing a Disney game on Xmas day back then.

Not just me then. Didn't think others were fans of MODs on here!

Ditto. Also NHL 2000 on the PS1.

And due to getting it for Xmas one year... Populous 2 for Amiga!

How about a game screenshot quiz? Amiga, DOS, Megadrive and Commodore 64.
