Favourite game/s from each system and why?

Post by Montytom » Tue Sep 18, 2012 4:05 pm

I thought i would post this up, It probably has been done many times but i thought it would be a good topic anyways new to old systems that you own or have owned.

PS Vita:-
Uncharted Golden abyss-

This game in my eyes is very nearly a console worthy version of the uncharted series. The storyline just pulled me in and had me hooked. Ive completed in once and i still want to go back to it again.

PS3:-
Uncharted:Drakes fortune-

This was the game that made me go out and buy a PS3. The newer games have surpassed it visuals wise but this one is my favourite.

Wii:-
Sonic Colours-

Ive always been a sonic fan and i found this to be a really enjoyable experience. The wisps brought something to the game and was all the better for having them in there.

XBOX original:-
Shenmue 2-

The best game on the XBOX in my opinion (i love the cheesy voice acting) The story sucked me in and i was gutted when it ended.

PS2:-
The getaway

The Uk setting done it for me and i bought the console for this reason. The game got a little bad press but i thought it was better then the GTA games that were coming out at the time.

Dreamcast:-
Shenmue 1 and 2-

My 2nd favourite franchise after the uncharted series of games. I find the whole concept moving and the amount of open space was new to me excellent emotional rollercoaster.

Sonic adventure-

My favourite sonic game ever and i have bought this on the psn aswell even though i own the dreamcast version. I was amazed when i first saw the footprints inthe sand.

N64:-
Castlevania 64-

I traded in resident evil on the ps1 for this and i never regretted it one bit. I did get stuck and have never completed this game but i will.

Goldeneye 007-

If you have never played this game then yu are missing out.I thought the graphics were amazing and remember my dad setting it up for me christmas day and i was lost in the game for houres on end.

Sega Megadrive:-
Wonderboy 3:monster lare-

The music and the colourful graphics had me hooked it was also ther first megadrive game that i had seen.

Robocop vs the Terminator-

I almost cried when i died at the last boss i also nearly threw the controller out of the window.THe music was great and the gameplay was brilliant also the music was quite funky i thoiught.

Revenge of shinobi-

I always remember the labyrinth and ow we spent hours drawing up a map of how to get to the last boss.
The shruken cheat also saved me a few times as im quite trigger happy and would just jump and spray them everywhere.

These are my favourites what are yours?

SNES: Super Probotector. Loved it back in the day and still do - pretty much the only reason I won't sell my SNES.
Gamecube: Resident Evil (REmake). Looks awesome and much better atmosphere IMO than any of the other Resi games.
Xbox: Halo. Probably the last game I was really excited to get into before a general apathy set-in that's only in the past couple of months seems to have abaited.
PS2: So, so many games and I'm still discovering new games day by day. I totally missed out on the PS2 when it was new but I'm catching up as best I can.
Xbox: Still ongoing ofcourse but for now I'll name DeadSpace. Much better than I think anybody ever expected.

LOL, nice list!

I would suggest TIE Fighter was a much better game than SQ4 though!

I'm gonna throw Mirror's Edge into the mix too. To describe it; a FPS platformer with highly stylised anime-like cutscenes and it sounds awful but I just think it's immense. Especially now I've gotten profficent with disarming hostiles.
