It's hard to look past the Wii for the reasons C=style mentioned.
But if we're seperating the Wii from it's backwards compatability then I would probably say the Gamecube. It had loads of great exclusives, 3 Zelda games, lots of good multiplayer games and the entire Resi Evil series up to that point, including the exclusive Zero and REmake.

Racers? Sega Rally, Daytona, Manx TT, WipEout 2097, Road Rash, Need for Speed, Scorcher.
Fighters? VF2, Fighters Megamix, SF Alpha, Last Bronx, Ultimate MK3.
Sports? Athlete Kings, SWWS 98, Winter Heat, Steep Slope Sliders.
Not to mention Baku Baku, Blast Chamber, Panzer Dragoon, Bomberman, Sega Ages, Sonic Jam, Virtua Cop, Virtual On, Worms and NiGHTS (the only one I haven't got yet).
And that's only the PAL releases!
Not to mention the model 2 controller, the 3D pad and all the other cool peripherals.

Re: Favourite console...
I don't like RPGs or strategies, and I tend to enjoy platformers more on the 16-bits. That's just me.

RPGs: Shining series, Dark Savior, PD Saga, Grandia (JPN only)
Strategies: Command & Conquer, Warcraft 2
Platformers: Croc, Bug, Clockwork Knight - said before it's not the Saturn's strong point.

mystaria
and sonic jam ( it might be a collection its probably the best platformer on there )

Re: Favourite console...
Included Sonic Jam in my original post, but it's a shame that the best platformers you can play on the Saturn are Mega Drive games.
Re: Favourite console...
at least sonic jam had 4 very good and polished ports in stead of the phone ins sega does nowadays with the same set of usual megadrive suspects

Re: Favourite console...
I'm sorry to say this (what with being a HUGE Sega fan) but I think most Developers wouldn't have done Saturn games if their royalty rates were 100 percent. There was such a hard-on for Sony at that time that Sega couldn't win. Obviously it didn't help that they behaved like pricks once they got fortune and glory (Sony, take note please) but that's a debate for another day.
I genuinely wonder sometimes what would have happened had Sony never existed. Certainly the 3D generation wouldn't have happened so soon.
