A few favourites but I'll go with nostalgia and the first love: Atari 2600.

The megadrive for me, because I love old 2D fighting/action side scrollers:
Strider, Shinobi, Shadow Dancer, Midnight Resistance, ESWAT, Streets of Rage 2, etc.
Then there were the great shooters, the platformers, the sega arcade conversions and all the early enjoyable EA Sports games.

It'd have to be the SNES for me.
So many great games.
But, yeah, the 2600 was my first love too...

I have so many fond memories of my teenage years which are inextricably linked to the MD.

Has to be the PC Engine for me.
Probably the first console that had arcade quality games and was bursting with original, often bizzare titles by the time it reached these shores. I remember how disappointed I was when plugging Hang On into my Master System the year before - what a difference.

If we're sticking to consoles then it has to be N64, just too many great games. However, if we're not sticking to consoles than it has to be the Amiga for me.

Sega Megadrive for me! All those classic sideways scrollers. Wasted many a day playing my Megadrive.... Come to think of it, still waste many hours playing some of those classic games!

I'll admit now I'm a dreamcast fanboy till the end. I love this machine. The pure fact that you can emulate the older systems just makes this a classic.

I waver between Megadrive (cos of SoR2, Thunderforce 4 and Shining force 2 amonst many others) and the SNES (cos of Unirally, Zelda, Secret of Mana, Axelay et al). Honourable mention to the Master System, my first machine owned solely by myself (Wonderboy 3! Too good) and the good old PS1.

My fav is the one console I just cant depart with, my Vectrex, I love that machine, it's very much like owning a golden age arcade machine, emulation simply does cant compare to actually owning the machine, it's smell, it's old skool tv hum, the controller, the unit itself it's simple unique in the history of videogames.

Talk about your necrophilia...but since this thread's already resurrected, I'll go with the SNES.
