Indeed chaps project backed!

"We reached our goal of $25,000 for Redux: Dark Matters, a new game on an almost 13 year old video game system in only 5 days!!!

We just made Kickstarter history here.. we are the first successful physicalease on Kickstarter...ever!

We couldn't have done it without you and we can't express how much we appreciate all of your pledges, seriously. Thank you for supporting this game.

With that said, we've got some exciting new goals we are going to set for the remaining 25 days. We are going to release this information in our next update very soon in the form of "stretch goals".

In other words, we are going to set some additional milestones - that if reached, will bring new special 'additions', 'content' and other cool things to Redux: Dark Matters!

Stay tuned, we'll be updating soon!

Thanks, Redux Team"

Quite another interesting update about this project - further goals

"Project Update #2: Stretch Goals - Additional Player Ship with More Weapons & Another Stage!

Posted by ReduxGame

The purpose of these stretch goals is to bring new features to the game.

We thought long and hard about it and we decided to make the goals solely about making Redux: Dark Matters bigger and better!

Here are our goals:

• $40,000: EXTRA SHIP WITH NEW WEAPONS (see picture for additional ship mockup!)
• $60,000: ANOTHER STAGE, "DARK PLANET" (see picture background!)
Remember, the Sega Dreamcast version is limited to only 1000 copies ever to be produced!

Help us spread the word to reach these goals and make Redux: Dark Matters even bigger and better!

Thanks,

- Redux Team"

An additional steel case has been added to copies of Redux when you pledge $100 or over http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/red ... fc155a492e

Hardly another DC shooter, as its coming to mutiple platforms. These DC homebrew games lose their appeal and closeness, when they are released on other platforms. If this was promised to be an DC exclusive title, then I would have donated $100 for the steelcase. Instead, Im just going to wait till released and pay £1 for the Android/ios version

I mostly share in your opinion as that's precisely what I did with Fast Striker - I bought the vastly cheaper iOS release in preference to the DC version. :?

However, Redux: Dark Matters is of a style of shmup I by far prefer to that of Fast Striker and as it looks so damn good in the screenshots and video footage I'm more likely to shell out for the DC release this time. :D

Still bloody waiting for Sturmwind too. Grrrr!

First goal reached, that next one will be tough to meet!!

Update #4: 40K Stretch Goal Reached! Onto 60K with 2-Player Support and a New Stage, "Dark Planet"!
Posted 3 days ago

You guys rock!

We reached our 40K goal which brings the addition of a second ship with new weapons to Redux: Dark Matters!! We are so happy we can bring this to the game!

Onto our last stretch goal of 60K -

We wanted to make this last stretch goal as awesome as possible - so we decided to add not only a new stage, "Dark Planet" to the game, but 2 Player support to the game if we can reach 60k! This is the first for an indie Dreamcast shmup and we are very excited to offer it.

Help us reach 60K we've got 9 days left and we know we can do it! Every facebook share, tweet, and anything else you can do to help us get the word out directly helps make Redux: Dark Matters as big and as awesome as we can make it!

Thanks again everyone for your support,

- Redux Team

I will keep an eye on this one but it didn't do a lot for me. It could be a grower.

This game has broken out of the Kickstarter and can be picked up here too now:

http://hucast.com/index.php?cat=c3_Games-Games.html

I think it's still cheaper to get it from the Kickstarter page though - not very many copies of the LE left though
