Injury caused by Wii

Post by Randall Flagg » Wed Dec 13, 2006 5:14 pm

Great bit in the sun today about people who have injured themselves or others using the new Wii controller.

We have smashed window, smashed TV screen, broken fingers and woman with black eye given to her by her bloke.

If anyones missed, will scan it in and post...

yes, would be amusing to read that.

I haven't broken anything, but I can't believe how much I ache. I didn't think simulated baseball and tennis would hurt my old bones so much.

When me an missus first saw the TV ads, we said that this would come. I'm pretty thrashy with controllers, One of those people that thinks when taking a corner in a driving game, you do it better by tilting and swiping the controller to the left. I could just imagine what it would be like if the game actually required some of that stuff. Wifey would be out of the room

Ah, so that's why the Wii is so cheap, you save the money so you can spend it on replacing damaged items and hospital bills.

I've been checking that "wiihaveaproblem" site regularly, and there are some nasty injuries and broken TVs. The eye and leg ones are too horrible to look at :(

Some of the broken TV's look fake to me though. Especially the one where the wiimote is still sticking out of the hole in the tv.

Yeah, I think he just stuck it in the hole for comedy value :D Still, I'd be annoyed with a hole in my TV either with, or without a Wii remote sticking out of it

If you walk in front of someone while they are swinging their arms around playing baseball on the Wii you deserve at least a blackeye.
If you are to Stu-Stu-Stupid to use the strap that comes with the remote (even though the Wii tells you to use it every time you start a new game) then you deserve at least a broken TV.
I can't belive these thickies...

How long until we see the first "MAN KILLS FAMILY WITH WII" story?

It's going to be a flipping bloodbath on Christmas morning. Little Johnny knocks his sisters teeth out. Uncle George's colostomy bag goes flying. Watch out for the fish tank... too late.

The hospitals will be heaving - Casualty may even have a Wii related storyline in a few months time.

I think I'll stick with WASD myself.
