your favourite magazines growing up?

Post by morch-uk » Sun Apr 29, 2012 11:55 am

Im suprised people buy gaming magazines these days but they do, however the ones i read on consoles i have nowadays, just don't make m laugh as muh, maybe cause i'm a grumpy git or maybe cause the industry tries to be too grown up now :?: apart from retrogamer

but when i was a teenagermine was the official sega saturn magazine, which generally had a good mix of reviews, previews and behind the scenes stuff, and wasn't too fanboy-ey :) before that i enjoyed C&VG :D

I used to buy the official nintendo mag around the N64 era. one of the guys that used to write for it (and beat children mercilessly at pokemon in their events) is now the editor of Bizarre magazine of all things!

For me it was Crash, C&VG £ Sinclair User. Some of my friends enjoyed Your Sinclair for its humour. The Games Machine was quite good & the best one for the nineties was a magazine called Maximum which lasted about seven issues :(

Quite a few now I think back. Good job I had a paper round or two to pay for em all. Choices were helped by the inclusion of cover tapes to play with. Started with YS & CRASH , Sinclair user when the newsie reduced it , then onto Mean Machines ( and then MM SEGA) , SEGAPRO and occasionally Official MEGADRIVE magazine and an American one called Gamepro (i think). along with Razzle , Classic Cars and Kerrang.
