Alex Kid on Megadrive

Post by Mantas » Mon Dec 11, 2006 5:42 pm

I recently sold my MD but I had 2 people ask me if it had Alex Kid built in. I told them no but I'm guessing that somewhere along the line some version of MD had it built in. Perhaps some foreign clone.

Does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks

The only MD I know of with built in games is the Brazilian Tec-Toy edition.

Alex Kidd was never a big title on MD in any territory, so much so that they made SMS only sequels after it.

I'd assume they've just got their sega machines mixed up.

And just to make that really obvious - The Sega Master System had Alex Kidd built into some versions. This is what they're thinking of.

You're thinking of Safari Hunt. Jungle Hunt was the old rope-swinging arcade game.

Yeah, I imagine they are thinking of the Master System. I have a Master System II with 'Alex Kidd in Miracle World' built in.

To claify, here's the list

Master System 1
- No game (but has snake game if you know how)
- Hang On / Safari Hunt (Original "Plus" pack, came with a light gun)
- Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Later models)

Master System 2
- Alex Kidd
- Sonic

I think that's the lot.

My old MS1 had Hang-On, but no Safari Hunt, and also the Snail Maze (hold up and 1 and 2 as you power up).

I think it was actually up-left and both buttons but I could be wrong as it's been a while!

You have Sonic on an SMS 1? You sure? I thought they'd been discontinued before the game even came on out cart, let alone when they started building in sonic.

If so, can you give me the model number?

I'd never heard of that version.
