Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
Such a fantastic game.
The continuity of story, level of deatil and sheer amount of passion that went into this game really shows through. Easily my favourite campaign of this generation.

I did like the ending in that it's just before the beginning of Halo 1. It was like "oh shittt" when I read you had to escort Cortana.
I'd say it's my favourite Halo game by quite a stretch, followed by 1, 3 and then 2. The rest don't exist.

I liked it but thought Crysis 2 was better.

In what way? Crysis started off strong, but then became repetetive, no moulds were broken, and personnaly found the lead character boringjdanddiet wrote:I liked it but thought Crysis 2 was better.

I do really enjoy Halo, the story is what drives me though, so I've enjoyed them all. I would also say pre-reach ODST is my favourite Campaign, just. Then Halo Wars, a game that I sank hours into, and loved every minutespeedlolita wrote:I did like the ending in that it's just before the beginning of Halo 1. Much more tactical, you could review options, study the situation before jumping in, use stealth if you liked, take different paths. Story held me right from the start, and the graphics are amazing, especially the scene where the building collapses next to you
It just seemed so much more to me than, jump, shoot etc.
MP was rubbish though, not that that bothered me.

Yeah I'm going to buy Reach and then go for a massive Halo play-through, as it's the only game I'm missing.
Despite how popular it's become to knock Halo it's still a pretty good series of games.
Hell, I may even wait until Halo 4 comes out to play the whole thing back-to-back!
*I read that Halo 4 is planned as a separate trilogy in itself. Jesus!

Halo Reach was great gameplay, but i found the storyline a bit too convoluted.. just let me shoot stuff. I also remember that during my completion I didnt get in a scorpion tank once, which was annoying (I think i may have missed one somewhere)
Have to say though, the multiplayer is still the best ever for me, i have played far cry, MW, GOW, etc etc, but still come back to Reach Big Team Battles, still for me the best multiplayer experience.

Re: Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
For me it didn't quite match the impact or the majesty of the original Halo, and the behaviour of the Elites seemed too far removed from the original, but I eventually grew to like it a great deal.
Yeah there is a scorpion near the start of The Package.scunny wrote:Halo Reach was great gameplay, but i found the storyline a bit too convoluted.. just let me shoot stuff. I know that you didn't intend this, and im not one to troll but yeah. that pretty much sums up halo for me.
Re: Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
I need to play through reach again as I remember enjoying it. Playing Anniversary at the mo and while its still great it does feel a bit 'old'. Would love to do a complete play through starting with Reach. But 2 would have to be remastered first. It just wouldnt seem right swapping to older hardware on the way through. What is the general anti Halo 2 vibe all about though? I thought it was great. And I loved the Arbiter sections, the sections where you got to fly around etc.
For me, its a great series with great multiplayer. I'd rather play the Halo's than the cod's any day of the week, especially as far as muliplayer is concerned. Getting owned by 12 year old blabber mouths who practically live on the cod servers is not my idea of fun.

Re: Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
I had already completed them all on Legendary, before I played through them all on Legendary AGAIN on the 360, as I was told that to get the wee "HALO" emblem on your in game tag in "Reach", you had to do so.
More fool me...
As for what I think of them;
Halo: The Library section is boring and repetitive, as are the corridors-with-arrows sections. The big vehicle fights are good though.
Halo 2: I liked it. The section on the Halo from the lake/floating-platform up until the "Truth" fight is boring, and was the only bit I didn't like.
Halo 3: Crackin
No faults with it that I can think of off-hand. Gave me an appreciation for just how good being able to dual wield is. The Spiker/SMG combo is dynamite.
Halo Reach: Still playing it. Still love it. Forge has been perfected, the armour abilities are a nice improvement...I looooooove the hologram. Last week, I had my mates fill an entire big team, including myself, we all picked holograms, and we just ran towards the enemy at the start for a laugh. 16 Spartans running towards them. You could see them sh!t themselves and run away
My only complaints are the rank mismatching in multiplayer (I constantly get teamed up with a bunch of solo, non-talking noobs against teams of 5 chatting Redeemers/Inheritors). And the "Armour Lock"...God, don't get me started on the "Armour Lock". All it does is pause the game. I can't stand it.
Halo 3 ODST: Played it a few months ago, yeah, it was ok. I liked the story telling aspect of it. The big Brute fight at the end took me ages on Normal, but I completed it first time on Legendary. I still don't know how I managed that...

I like armour lock, there are few things more satisfying in multiplayer than armour locking a ghost about to run you over. Brilliant.
Also activating it when getting mauled and a team mate rescuing you in those few seconds is also exhillerating.
The biggest problem in Halo Reach MP is still the booting, you can be leading your team to victory with 30 points but it still doesnt stop some complete n0b on -1 booting you when he suicidally jumps in your line of fire or throws himself in front of your vehicle. Makes me want to smash the controller up at times!

I've only done this once, to get the achievement. I rarely choose it. If I do, I tend to forget I've got it, and never use it. If I were to rate them best to worst it would be...scunny wrote:I like armour lock, there are few things more satisfying in multiplayer than armour locking a ghost about to run you over. Brilliant.
1. Hologram
2. Sprint
3. Jet-pack
4. Bubble shield
5. That roly-poly bull-sh!t that elites and zombies do that gives you zero control over where you stop (god help you if you're on a ramp).
6. Armour Lock.
I rarely see this happen, what I do see is the Armour Lock-er surrounded by an entire opposing team and getting mauled as soon as they come out of it.scunny wrote:Also activating it when getting mauled and a team mate rescuing you in those few seconds is also exhillerating.
Trolls and noobs, that's all I get on my teams. Last night I had a team-mate in a Revenant who was blowing up all our vehicles on Heamorrage as they spawned, and if we managed to salvage/save one, he would drive in front of us, trying to get us to shoot him. I was attacking a Wraith from behind, and as it slowly turned round, teamkiller tried his "Shoot me!" thing on me; I managed to flip him upside down by turbo-ing my Ghost under him, and left him for the Wraith to deal with, which had turned around by this pointscunny wrote:The biggest problem in Halo Reach MP is still the booting, you can be leading your team to victory with 30 points but it still doesnt stop some complete n0b on -1 booting you when he suicidally jumps in your line of fire or throws himself in front of your vehicle. Re: Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
Hollow, repetitive and lacking in any kind of atmosphere best describes Reach for me.
I paid £30 for it, pre owned and many will know that is uncommon for me. I was told it was like a return to the original, it wasn't at all. It was walk along from one big battle to another with mediocre visuals and crap sound. I never did try multiplayer mind, apart from co-op.
I was extremely gutted though, so were my mates considering we were all desperate for it to be good.
