1995-1997 PC Games Magazines

I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help me. I'm looking for any PC gaming magazines (PCZone, PCGamer, CVG etc) that make mention of Ultima Online. The time frame I'm looking at is 1995 to 1997 - any reviews/previews/features/interviews, are needed.

I'm researching the history of UO but finding archive materials on the interwebs is proving difficult, would any of you magazine hoarders have anything that might help my quest?

This is why you definitely shouldn't throw out your collection of PCzones. Sigh.

Hi Adam,

Sadly I don't have any old 90's PC mags kicking about but there is a short but fairly in depth behind the scenes feature on Ultima Online in volume 3 of the Retro Bookazine the Games TM people put out a while back. You may have seen it already, just thought I'd mention it!

It's funny that you post this.

A few months ago I searched Ultima Online on Ebay and it came up with August 1997 issue of PC Games, Ultima Online was on the cover and this was the publicity leading up to the launch. It was listed for $2 so obviously I bought it instantly. It arrived in surprisingly great condition another than a tear on the back cover. Tons of great info in the articles, and it reveals a lot of what their original intent of UO was before they hit many bumps in the roads...something similar recent revelations in OSI code has shown as well.

Anyways, I was just looking at it right now and Googled to see if this has already been scanned... This topic came up and I haven't seen it anywhere online, so I will scan it this week when I can and link you here.
