What games/consoles DID YOU THINK you bought this week??

Picked up Robotech Battlecry for Game Cube today (at least I thought I did). When I got home and opened it...no game.
Case and Instructions were in perfect shape though.

luckily, this only set me back $5 at a charity shop. I bet if I try to return it, they will think I took the game.
The story alone is worth the $5. Maybe someday, I'll come across the loose CD and find a match.

I bought a F Zero X game for the GBA off ebay a couple of years ago (not quite this week), like the OP the box and the instructions were in perfect condition but there was no game.
I got in touch and the lady claimed that she had checked the box before she sent it and therefore knew the cart was in there but would still have a look for it adding that she'd reluctantly give me a refund if it didn't show up.

The next day I got a sheepish e-mail saying that she had left the game in the GBA when she sold it; the person that bought the console was nice enough to send back their unexpected bonus so my story had a happy ending.

Guess i need to start popping open the bags that they seal up the games in.
On the bright side, I also bought Quake III Arena for $1 and to my surprise, it actually had the CD Key inside (and the game!!)

there was a gamecube windwaker box in the charity shop the other day. good condition, manual etc. the disc was starfox adventures and was scratched to buggery. i nearly bought it anyway, but because i asked if they happened to have the "right" disc out the back, they refused to sell it to me after realising :(

When I bought my Saturn off eBay 3 of games had no disc in them, went mad at the seller and he gave me a partial refund.

I also once bought a couple of Saturn games from Game back in the day only to get home and fine that I had no disc in them. I went back down there and thankfully for me I actually knew a guy who worked there and he found said missing discs in a draw and then told the manager what had happened and how I was really irate, had wasted train fare and stuff. He came out and actually gave me a free Saturn game! (this was in last days of the machine when they were clearing them out)

Not this week, but bought a pool game for PS2 with no disc inside. Damn your stickers, Gamestation!

And "won" OutRun for the Game Gear on eBay, sent payment the same day and then the next day the seller closed his account! Not seen a cheaper one since.

Had a lot of wrong Playstation discs at carboots. My own fault for not checking, but sometimes you get a pleasant surprise. I got Micro Machines V4 once in a Phantom Menace case, a game id been looking for. Another time I found the first three Crash Bandicoot games inside the first Tony Hawk game. The person on the stall had evidently just grabbed a few discs and chucked them in whatever case was near.

Another one for me, back in 1995 I purchased Exile 2 Wicked Phenomenon (TGCD) for $10.00 when a toy store was trying to clear out turbo inventory. When the lady grabbed the game there were 2 stuck together and she didn't realize it. My mom brought it home and I said, "Why did you get 2?"

Anyway, wish I tossed that second one in a drawer, and forgot about it...

It had better not have been some over-common sports game. I would be more pissed if that happened.

Some months back I bought Metroid Prime 3 ex rental from the local Blockbuster. Got it home and the disc they game me was actually Metroid Prime Trilogy - Kind of cool to have the lot, but it sucks being in the wrong case.

^^ That nearly happened to me but the other way round. Picked up the Trilogy to buy and the guy behind the counter couldn't tell the difference between the Corruption disc and the Trilogy disc so went to put the Corruption disc in before his colleague spotted and told hime otherwise.

A couple of years ago I picked up a Mario 3 cart which turned out to have Yoshi's Safari on instead. I think it was from a car boot sale so just ended up keeping it.

I have had a few, all in charity shops. I got Tales of Vesperia on the 360 for a quid. When I checked the disc, it had Guitar Hero 3 disc in it. Still had ToV's instrucvtions but hey ho. Others include XMen - Children of the Atom on Saturn, Sonic Heroes on the GC and Gunstar Heroes on the MD which had PGA Golf in it......
