Ditto. A console with a wannabe iPad for a controller? A gimmick too far so, er, no thanks. Roll on PS4/next-gen Xbox.

Once I get a chance to play on one, see what games are available, see what the technical specs are, internet capabilities, third party support and get an idea of price I might offer an opinion.

My daughter, who's eight, will want one. I will stick with whatever the next gen 360 and xbox is.

Yes and it just broke the DS's first year sales in 8 months. Make of that what you will.
I reckon I'll be getting a Wii-U if the games are right (I bought the Wii a couple of months post-launch).

I'm liking the idea. All depends on the games really.

If they had called it Wii Me instead I would have considered getting it.

Too early to tell me reckons. Aside from the reveal of third party games we know that are coming, we know nothing of the first party games coming, launch wise. While I'm sure we'll see the usual suspects (Mario, Wii Sports, etc.), wouldnt mind seeing a HD Pikmin 3 around launch time.

Also, the final model is to be revealed at the next E3, so I'd expect the odd change or two, especially after the kick in the balls the 3DS launch really gave me at the start...

That's the rational answer, surely? I'm gonna just wait and see.

And they should have called it the Puu. 8)

Not much at all really. DS was far from a rip roaring success initially. It took the release of DS Lite and some innovative games for it to take off. Maybe the same trick will be repeated with the release of a '3DS Lite' but I'm far from convinced it will. However, as this is (another) Wii U thread I'll not seek to derail it with off topic chat.

As i keep saying, the main premise of the Wii U is that you can "continue gaming when your partner/ children want the big telly".

1) What happens to the sound - do you have to wear headphones?
2) err dont we all have more than 1 big TV now anyway?

Its not for me, only Microsoft next gen for me.
