Good topic!

As C64 owner, had plenty of guff conversions, try: Double Dragon, Final Fight, Hard Driving, Wec Le Mans, Afterburner for starters.

Mastersystem: Pitfighter.

A8:Green Beret, Arkanoid and Gauntlet dissapointed to various degrees.

Bionic Commando and Operation Wolf on Amiga/ST-C64 versions far more playable.

Operation Thunderbolt C64-The wip version Zzap 64 reviewd far better quality than what we auctually got.

Honurable mentions to Atari 2600 Pac Man and Green Beret on the Commodore 16, Ibut I;m giving it to Sunset Riders Megadrive

Only four levels and the Female enemies and most of the bosses where removed.. I'm sure there was only two selectable characters as well

Final Fight (SNES) - retarded decision to axe the two-player co-op mode and it also missed one of the three main playable characters.

Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits (GBA) - an abomination.

Raiden Trad (SNES) - the list of failings is long.

Anybody mentioning Pitfighter needs to remember that it was utter sh1te before it was converted.

Altered Beast on the Master System was turd too. 2 frames per second, missing monsters/level... The arcade original wasn't amazing, but at least it was playable.

Also - Soldier of Light on the Speccy was a conversion of Xain'd Sleena, a marmite game, I'll grant you, but one I loved... I nearly cried my face off when I played it. Truly shocking.

Ninja Gaiden (NES) - a reasonable game in it's own right but as an arcade conversion it failed spectacularly by turning the scrolling fighting game source material into a relatively fast paced platform game.

Street Fighter 2 for the ST & Amiga. I know a kid that paid full price for it at the time, he must still feel hard done by!
