The Scorpion was a popular choice back in the day

Mine's a Logic 3 'Predator' that does work with Die Hard Trilogy, but not Die Hard Trilogy 2! It can be used with both the Playstation and the Saturn.

What you want is a Konami gun (or at least one that uses the Konami standard).

There are a couple of models of Predator. I have the original and it only works with games that use the Konami standard, such as Die Hard Trilogy.

There's a later revised model of the Predator (Predator 2?) that is switchable between Konami and Namco Guncon modes. It also has a socket for a foot pedal.

Many of the third party guns are switchable between the two modes, but as Konami came to the party first some of the very early ones only do that and not Guncon. Personally I'd say one of the Predators is a good choice. The Konami system isn't as accurate as the Namco Guncon one and some of the guns I've tried for it are horrible, but the Predator worked well for me and generally reviewed well at the time too (unlike the Scorpion).

Predators are usually readily found at car boots.

This is the one I have, the Konami Hyper Blaster. Bright green so you can't miss it :)

I got a CIB version off ebay for less than a tenner and there's a sticker on the box saying that it's compatible with Die Hard Trilogy.

I use a scorpion with this, which just seems to support traditional lightgun tech rather than anything fancy like g-con

Yes, this is the gun I used on Die Hard Trilogy, and it works very well, one of the best light gun games of it's day IMO.

The Konami ones are much less common than the Predator guns. You'll find a Predator for sweetie money quite easily.
