2 hour completion - which game?

Post by Budly Moore » Thu Oct 13, 2011 5:26 pm

Just looking at the the latest games people have completed and realised I've not completed anything in ages.

So with a spare 2 hours in front of me, which game should I complete?

It took me 2 hours to get to the final boss of Revenge of Shinobi (Mega Drive) for the first time earlier this week.

The next day I got to the final boss in less than an hour and won.

Of course, I had been playing the game for the past two weeks. :)

Great game, by the way. My favourite SHinobi alongside the first one.

Super Mario Land GB can be done easily in 45 minutes, so you could do that twice and have time left over to make a coffee and read RG :D

Agreed, Revenge of the Shinobi is probably the best MD game, which is pretty spectacular seen as it was one of the first.

I just went through Gunforce 2 (mame), its kinda ok, very obvious of its influences and distinctly unfair, I didn't like the return to mission 1 after completion.

If you've got MAME or Taito Legends Vol 1 on the PS2 or Xbox, you could do worse than go through The Ninja Kids.

I had another play through of it after reading the 'Unconverted' feature about it in this months RG, forgot what a fun, completely mad game it was. :)

I played through Little Samson the other day in a little under 2 hours. However that boss rush at the end is a

I was going to suggest this also. I've done it in 25. Still remember the first time I did it, was on the French trip with school, it was really late (by school standards), I was in bed with the Light Boy on. It was Bastille night so the French were out partying!

Ah, but did you save the girl...?
(Agreed by the way - one of the oldest Megadive titles but still one of the best) :)

When you think you've got problems you don't really need,
They're maybe not as bad as they seem,
Cos in a world full of misery, with hatred and greed,
Your problems are another man's dream.

Yes, I saved the girl. I did it the noobie way, though, by getting myself TWO ninjitsu spells and a POW before going into the final boss room. Then I just cast
Ikazuchi, hammered away at the boss, cast it again, and then killed him. Cheap, but well within the rules of the game! Now that I've seen the "good" end, I'm currently trying to work on a non-ninjitsu run on the hardest setting.

(And no, I never used any infinite shuriken cheat btw, I already thought that setting it on 70 shurikens was way more generous than necessary)

Guardian Heroes, XBLA or Saturn. Should take you 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the difficulty and route you take through the game. However long it takes, you'll be having absolutely chuffing brilliant fun. :D
